TJ was not going for a single leg when the fight was stopped

He went for a single leg repeatedly during the 30s of the fight including at the point it was stopped.
Watch it again, you are wrong.

He only got in on that position at the end because the ref stepped in. Otherwise, Cejudo would have ended up on top and would have continued aiming at his head.

We've all seen multiple fights where the fight went on infinitely longer (Edgar/Maynard) Kongo/Barry etc... where the guy hurt came back and won. This wasn't even in the same stratosphere as Kongo Barry. I'm not sure how you confident keyboard warrior ass clowns are so sure the fight was over anyways. Amazing

Falling helpless like a sack of potatoes with your head flailing is going to get you a stoppage. You can't fall without bracing yourself head spinning like a top.

TJ's doing a stretching half split when this thing was called, he wasn't getting any wrestling done.

We saw a little bit of brain damage avoided, thats about it.
Exactly. He was in a position of absolute weakness. His eyes weren’t pointing to what he is doing after those last few shots landed. The arm that isn’t blindly reaching out was wobbly too.

You are either blind or don't know what a single leg is if you think TJ was going for a single leg as the ref stepped in. In his mind he may have been going for one but he was NO WHERE close to having or being in position for one.

Watch from 2:20.

Isn’t it an absolutely identical situation?

going for a single leg doesnt mean having a single leg. he did not have one, but he was attempting one

And we've seen guys trying to wrestle the ref after a stoppage, does that mean they were intelligently defending themselves?

Refs are dangerous.

Jose Aldo was kicked in the head by one.

Brian Johnston got his nose broken during the stoppage of a fight that he won by TKO.

It was painfully obvious TJ was in an extremely weakened state and has no business at 125
But yesterday and everyday this past week he and his fans were claiming the weight cut was nothing and that he was gonna run through Henry.

Yeah Henry would have just ridden him and kept punching him from the side like he did earlier. That weak attempt would have been no match for cejudos wrestling

TJ actually WENT for the single leg.
It's another question if he had it or not.
But he definitely WENT for the single leg.

Gotta love mma fans

Bitch when their fighter is getting his head bobbled around and their brain getting CTE symptoms with every shot landed and ref stops it.

If ref had let it go same guys would be bitching about bad refs not protecting fighters.

dillasnake got starched and was not coming back from that.

Not even close, TJ is sitting on his ass facing away from Henry as the ref steps in....arm around leg does not automatically mean youre going for a single.

Watch TJ's left arm after he got dropped. He tried to go for it and stupid ref stopped it.
Uhm, he was going for it in the way a fighter on queer street goes for the ref's leg after hes been knocked out.

Henry wood have continue the onslaught and TJ wood have been sleeping.

From your AV, keep relieving those memories man. This is one not so much. Very obviously he was on queer street, and by just fishing for a leg, does not equal having a single leg.

Exactly, he TRIED to go for it but didn’t actually go for it, that arm just kinda flops in that direction. Fights over by the time that arm makes contact. More importantly his head was doing the stank dance, he was done.

The fact it has caused controversy shows it was not a 'good stoppage'. Many of us called it an early stoppage before TJ said so when watching the fight. It was unconvincing and even another 3 seconds would have been enough for a unanimous agreement from fans on it. Nobody is suggesting that TJ was about to win there and then. The question is whether he could have recovered. As we know stranger things have happened.

“TJ was still able to move, terrible stoppage!” - Sherdog

Problem is you have examples of fighters getting badly rocked, and coming back. GSP was hurt real bad against Condit. Brock and Carwin. Frankie and Maynard. Let them get KO'd.
