I dont recall sleeping well, but when I did sleep it was heavily aided by drugs, both prescription and sleeping pills.

I think we built a bit of a pillow fort to mimic a hospital bed, so yes, sort of sitting up.

I had something similar. Used a stack of pillows so I could sleep at about a 45 degree angle. No drugs, though. The hardest is the little things, like going to the bathroom and getting dressed.
