TJ Grant never lost by KO or TKO

Taking a head shot that you didn't see coming can really fuck shit up. Makes you appreciate guys who can absorb loads of punishment and the guys who can't but still throw down anyways.

I believe most of the damage to most fighters happen during their training camps.

Another TJ Grant thread today. Honestly don't mind it, breaks up the monotony of PEDs discussions.

Despite being a shit finisher, Gray Maynard had power. According to Grant

"I fought Gray at UFC 160. He tagged with one, I remember feeling bells ringing in my head for half a second during the fight, then 30 seconds later the fight was over. It was just so quick," Grant explains, saying he also never received any medical suspension after the fight. He also didn't experience any classic concussion symptoms like vomiting. Yet, looking back, the hit he took against Maynard may have been the core cause.

"I think that was a little bit of a concussion, I'm willing to say. That guy hits pretty hard. He tagged me pretty good.

It's a dangerous game, Joao Carvalho who recently died looked no different than any of the many TKO's we've seen in the UFC.

Just like Wand back in the day, he probably took 80% of the damage of his career in those gym ''sparring sesions'' at chute boxe

Man, he must've gotten hit with the hardest strike ever thrown by anyone.

I was at the Ufc when he beat the piss out of gray Maynard

Def sad loss to lw division at the time. Hope he's healthy

But the show goes on

Man, what happened to that guy? He was on his way to a title shot and then he had a severe concussion...haven't heard about him since.

I saw him fight Matt Wiman in Chicago. The guy straight up destroyed him with elbows if I recall correctly.

I don't think it was an accumulation of damage, from what I remember hearing it was an isolated event from some BJJ training that caused the concussion.
Iirc he clashed heads with his training partner while going for a takedown. He just took the impact on just the right spot to fuck him bad and basically end his career.
