Tito vs. Bonnar is competing with Cain vs. Werdum

1. Cain is NOT a draw
2. Tito and Bonnar are familiar to the casuals
3. Chandler vs Brooks 2 is the most exciting fight of the night

Bellator Wins

Tito and bonnar, let us all laugh.

Seriously lmao goon type shit.

I'll watch Bellator live from home. I'm still a big Michael Chandler fan even though the judges can't seem to get his results right. Free > Cost Money. I'll end up catching the PPV the next morning though for sure, as opposed to 177 which I will likely never end up seeing. If Bellator wasn't going on the same night, i'm sure i'd make my usual trip to the bar to watch.

Round it out as:

Tito Ortiz vs Stephan Bonnar
Michael Chandler vs Will Brooks
Patricio Freire vs Daniel Weichel
Bobby Lashley vs James Thompson

And the card would absolutely kill the UFC PPV.

I anticipate a Dec 6th event announcement featuring Rampage vs Mo, Kongo, Daley and I wouldnt be surprised to see them try to set up Shlemenko/Halsey vs Mashall/Manhoef... Killing 2 consecutive UFC PPVs with some 'big cards'.

But im an optimistic fanboy :)

The UFC event that night is already sold out and they'll make plenty of money just because of the gate plus Mexico/Brazil TV deals will be huge because of it. And its a Heavyweight title fight with a solid card under it, so it'll hit 350k easily.

Will more people be watching Bellator? Of course. But Bars are going to show UFC regardless.

I think they'll both do well. Tito/Bonnar will need to keep this shit up though because all MMA media is going to be covering the huge Mexico debut.

If Tito/Bonnar don't promote they won't get any media attention.

Some big name fighters against a couple of no bodies?

Who is this Can Velazquex hombre?

I am actually more interested in Tito vs Bonnar than Cain/Werdum
Always was a fan of Bonnar and this match up interests me.

Actually casual fan doesn't even know Bellator exist and if they do they know very little if anything about when an event is on.

Everyone knows that the UFC exists, but the casuals have moved onto fedora shopping and beard blogs to occupy their time.

UFC180 will do monster numbers in Mexico, good in Brazil and +300k buys in the US. Tito vs Bonnar will do 1 million at best on Spike. and to even compare the relevancy of both fights is an insult to the sport.

Maybe.

When did the "Cain is not a draw" lie start? He obviously isnt GSP, but he is not Barao or Mighty Mouse either.

JDS 3 and Big Foot 2 did over 300k and they were predictable beatdowns with almost zero intrigue. The Werdum fight is way more interesting.

Both those PPV did low because they were both rematches of one sided fights, Cain had just smashed both of them so they werent interesting.

They wont be competing for the same audience, UFC will get the mma sports fans and Bellator will be going after the Spike tv Bar Rescue fans.

The guy who isnt ordering the UFC cause he isnt a hardcore fan.

The guy who is sitting around watching TV flips on Spike and sees Tito and thinks I remember him from years ago fighting with that mohawk dude. Who he is fighting? OH yeah that guy who fought that dude named after a branch or a tree, Forrest, thats his name. yeah I remember watching that.

Oh shit and look at this mask thing, they are brawling in the cage and he is talking about his wife. yeah I'm gonna watch this tonight.

Thats the audience Bellator will get that night with Tito/Bonnar.

All i have to say is Ken shamrock vs Tito 1 2 & 3

NO WAY ou can say anything is better than Cain v Werdum that night. That's asinine.

Brooks v Chandler is a good LW fight, like belongs on a UFC ppv main card good LW fight. It's better than Tito v Bonnar. But it is not as good as Cain v Werdum. Cain v Werdum is a classic HW match that will be remembered for a long time.

We must not confuse to be a success in Mexico and to be a success in USA....I dont doubt in Mexico to be a hit, because it is the first time of UFC in Mexico and the mexicans swear Cain is mexican  but that doesnt mean to be a success in USA with FS1 ratings and PPV sales....so i repeat my bet around 150/200K

I'll be watching the Bellator show and will change it to a "free" UFC live stream when the Tito/Bonnar fight gets ready to start. Don't want to see these 2 fight as they will never reach championship level of fighting.

It is still a HW titlefight. Cain is not Barao. His last 3 PPV did 330k, 380k and 590k.

i would watch that but lets be serious nobody on that card besides tito is a draw which is debatable because i dont think that ppv sold 100k. including thompson.

Yep, i know...but Cain didnt compete against Bellator free event before....that is point of this thread, recall??
Bellator will do the same thing they did this time I would imagine. They'll go at 8 Eastern and not mess with the UFC's slot. They would be absolutely foolish to go against the UFC.

Both will make their money and be fine. They are only hurting themselves though by going on UFC night.
