News Titanic Tours Submersible missing in atlantic ocean

What are you talking about? This is common fucking knowledge. Like, I've literally never met anyone who didn't know this. And I've met a LOT of people. Even brothers from da hood knew it. Blew my mind away, but not really because it's common knowledge...

I think you may be overestimating how common that knowledge is, I definitely didnt know it
I also dont know which "da hood" youre referring to but I guarantee no one else in my hood knew that shit either, we aint spending a lotta time discussing secret US military operations and the sunken locations of centuries old dead rich people

It’s like what happens when a pistol shrimp snaps it’s claw.

The jet of water pushed out by the shrimp’s claw snap moves so fast (it has clocked in at 62 miles per hour!) through the surrounding water that an area of low pressure is created directly behind the jet stream, forming a gas bubble (Fig. 2). However, within microseconds, the pressure from the surrounding seawater builds so high that the bubble collapses in on itself asymmetrically, forming a cavitation bubble. The intense bubble implosion creates a loud pop! sound that sends a sonic shockwave through the water, which can stun or kill unlucky invertebrates nearby.

Simultaneous to the loud pop!, the bubble collapse also generates an instantaneous flash of light at wavelengths that indicate extremely hot temperatures within the bubbles (up to 5000 Kelvin, or 8540°F).

Pistol shrimp colonies generate so much noise – loud snapping sounds all day and all night – that they actually interfere with the Navy’s ability to use sonar technology for submarine detection. In fact, pistol shrimp are credited with aiding the U.S. during World War II. United States submarines were purposefully kept amid colonies of pistol shrimp or affixed with speakers playing pistol shrimp snapping sounds, so that the soundwaves from the loud bubble snaps of the shrimp would acoustically camouflage underwater vessels from detection by sonar surveillance systems. And it worked
The Shrimp sound like when you pour milk on your rice crispies

It's amazing at how ignorant some people really are. I mean, I'm no expert, but if you think that there is no reason that there isn't an entire tourist industry that would have a 1000 Ocean Gate-like vessels, making bank on taking fanatics down to the Titanic(and elsewhere), all because of "red tape" or Billionaires not willing to spend the extra cash to make some vessel impervious to extreme water pressure at the depths of the friggin' Titanic, then you're clearly...out of your depth(rim shot) on the subject.

Not hard? There is like 5 vessels on planet Earth that can dive that deep.

He said "not hard" he didn't say inexpensive, or commercially viable. I mean, the yutz that just killed himself and 4 other people did it.

Had to google who his wife was, Linda Harding. Was curious what she looked like. Shes an older woman, so I'm guessing he married her for the british status and less for looks.

Boooooooooo.

That's as weak as saying he married for a nice personality. Makes me think of Walmart or target in a moo moo.

Alternatively, some marry young and she hits the jackpot. Usually women are waiting at the finish line. Modern women don't build.

He may of married her cause he’s really into blink 182 and only fans like her son and he wanted to hang

It is a bit perplexing why so many smart and wealthy folks would do this, but don't discount the power of persuasion. Like, say you're a rich dude who booked this thing, but had second thoughts. You arrive to their headquarters, and all of sudden, it seems professional as all fuck. You're taking safety courses run by professionals, and you've got all sorts of people at the base reassuring you that it's no big deal, including many experts, and the friggin' billionaire CEO, telling you that all the noise is bullshit, and that the sub had done many dives with no issue, AND he's gonna be there with you the whole time.

It would most likely loosen the concerns you might've had, if you were willing to give it a chance in the first place.

I heard about these Titanic dives a few years back and thought it would be a cool expereince for many people. Don't recal who the dive company was, but I can certainly see why rich smart people would have no problem going in this submersible, because others have gone and came back fine, and the pilot - the French guy - is a well respected and seasoned pro. People assume that when a company does something like this they know what they are doing or else they wouldn't do it because of the liabilites and risks.

my info is that the sub imploded on ASCENT (when they should have been heading DOWN to Titanic) (see a previous post a coupla hours ago).
That tells me they knew there was a BIG problem and were desperately trying to ascend to reduce water pressure on the hull.

I think the details will all come out in time.
On the topic of whether the 5 occupants KNEW or not that there was a big problem, and my previous view that they were ASCENDING when the vessel imploded....this comment from James Cameron (who knows a lot of stuff about diving and has many contacts) appears to confirm that the crew knew they were in trouble a few hundred meters above the seafloor and had dropped weights and were going back UP when the ship failed :

Worth watching the entire 10mins interview.
James Cameron knows his stuff, he has been to the Marianas Trench (37,000ft).

He also said that carbon-fiber is terrific for INTERNAL massive pressures like a COPV tank that SpaceX use on all it's rockets, but it does NOT work well for massive external pressures due to the nature of the material (fibers embedded in an epoxy-resin base essentially, layered at different angles).
Here's that, timestamped :

Maybe they heard some creaking, long enough to drop the weights and start ascending, and then the thing imploded. Either way I'd guess it was over so fast that there was probably no time to really take it in.

LOLOLOL you can't be serious. Wonder how all those immigrants got to Europe? To bad the boats weren't shittier.

lmao this guy believes everything the govt says. WHEW

Narcissistic? Always fun holding a mirror to people like you

I bet you consider empathy a strong trait of yours. you people are all so alike. it's gold
You’re a much dumber and shittier version of me.

Probably ugly too.
