Hi everyone,

I’ve recently started practicing kickboxing and I’m really enjoying it, but I feel like my technique and stamina could use some improvement. I’m particularly struggling with maintaining power in my kicks and keeping my energy up during sparring sessions.

Are there specific drills or exercises that focus on improving both precision and endurance?

Also, how important is shadowboxing versus bag work for developing proper form?

I’d love to hear advice from more experienced kickboxers, especially on routines that balance strength, speed, and cardio without causing burnout.

This forum is for discussing the sports of Muay Thai and Kickboxing more from a spectator and fan standpoint. If you have questions about training, try asking it in the Standup Technique forum, where those topics are discussed.

The cardio question Is a matter of relaxation that takes lots of repetitions until kicking is second nature. When you kick relaxed you wont burn out as much. You also havent gotten fully developed muscles yet since you just started. it will come.
Flexibility will also help you kick more relaxed.

Work at everything. Strength cardio skill technique.

It's a matter of consistency, mindset, recovery (sleep), nutrition and time.

Educate yourself, there are lots of good informative videos on youtube about a athletic lifestyle.

No magic pill. Grind. Passion. And a good lifestyle.

Consistency beats perfectionism. You gotta show up troughout the years.

What is your curent routine ? Training, diet, sleep.
