Well, Zhuravlev and Londt are elite kickboxers of this decade.
Zhuravlev won Glory interim LHW belt, and Londt won Glory HW contender tournament.

He proved that he could beat Alistar, he didn't prove he could beat him 9 out of 10 times.

He made it look so easy. Obviously I was using hyperbole, but lets not kid ourselves about Overeems striking either.

That's why when people bring up Overeem as a k-1 champ,i just roll my eyes. His run in the tourney wasn't really that impressive. I always felt Spong was overrated,i mean who has he really beaten?
Saki and Aerts were totally spent and on top of that Aerts was an old ass shot dude by then. So I mean,if he didn't win agains that opposition id be surprised honestly. Let's also keep in mind how k-1 never matched up the Reem with Schilt.

I think k saki would have beaten him if he were healthy but the spong and aerts are legit wins. It wasnt his only victory over aerts either.

If Saki can fix that chainsaw sized gas tank he would be a dangerous fight for anyone at 205, if he was younger I'd say he should cut to 185.

Overeem fought for the title not long time ago and he is still a top fighter at 37 years old under USADA regime, not bad for a guy made by chemicals.

Gokhan Saki was also juiced to the grills when he was kickboxing, he was literally purple.
Most of those K1 fighters were jacked on steroids.

Top fighter in mma sure. I bet a lot of those guys were on gear but Reem is the only one to fail a test. He had some very fortunate circumstances for that Grand Prix and without the juice it would have been a much closer fight with the much smaller Spong. Everyone else had tougher fights for their first fight. Overeem runs away a lot without roids and also has quite a bit of KO losses in his career. That Grand Prix was seven years ago so it's kinda been a while.

I just never liked the Reem. Its almost a similar thing to guys like Jones and Vitor and Cyborg where you know the guys are cheating,but their fans dont really care. Anyone says anything about it gets shit on. And with Reem all you gotta do is hit him with one good shot and hes pretty much done. So because he is genetically altered power house who mostly gets by on his brute strength to overpower guys,im supposed to be impressed? He just doesnt inspire much sympathy or faith. How does he fight without his medicine? He's OK. People wanted to say hes some kinda HW all time great if he could just get the hw title. I had to say it was awesome to see those hopes go down in flames via Stipe.
He will never be the champ,cos he isnt good enough to be the champ.
