He messed up the first Nate fight by failing to recognize Conor's tempo was too high and to issue instructions to Conor to pace himself and he inexplicably had no answer for Dustin's calf kicks throughout the fight but he's had months now though to formulate a game plan so it's time for him to prove his worth.

Conor's legacy is secure but Kavanagh desperately needs a victory here to salvage his reputation. A win and he might not be the Irish Edmond after all but another loss will have history record him as a mediocre coach who won the Powerball when Conor walked through his gym door.

I wonder what his cut is from big Conor fights..?

Kavanagh sounds like a reasonable man when he talks, but jeez the "our job is to get out of Conor's way" quote is one of the most embarrassing things a coach can say. There's no craft in the world in which you can reach a point where there are no more things left to learn, ESPECIALLY when said craft is an ever evolving sport where your opponents are constantly changing. Awful mentality.

Agreed — BUT it’s a Reality, not a Mentality

His boss is a multi-millionaire hooligan successful businessman-child — what most kids want to be when they grow up

Kavanagh is a shit coach, with the exception of Conor what high level fighters has he produced? Even better, what fighters has he improved?
The best you can answer is probably Gunnar who spends most of his time in Iceland, or someone like Makwan. He just isn't a top level coach.

I don’t think Irish Edmond is even training him for this fight

This 100%. Take away Conor I doubt we ever see him coach in the UFC and SBG isn't known.
