Tim Sylvia in his prime

Sylvia on them good PEDs would possibly have been a top 5 HW, but it was clear he was a lot more timid after he got caught. That version of Sylvia would have been a top 10 HW. Yes, HW is that weak.

I think it's a stretch to call Hendo one of the best HWs of all-time...like a huge one lol. He only has 2 wins at HW, albeit two amazing wins...unless he has some regional or low tier wins early on to add to that.

But I definitely agree that Hendo is lowkey underrated all-time and is a great. It's just that he cannot be ranked that high because he failed to ever win a UFC belt (and it's not arbitrary) or even the Strikeforce MW belt against Shields, after winning the UFC "tourney" then leaving for SF or something....blurry memory on that.
I meant the Fedor and Nog are two of the best heavyweights of all time not Hendo. Maybe I didn't word that correctly. Hendo won a UFC one night tournament. So that makes him as much a UFC champ as Gracie or anyone else who won a tournament before they had belts for each weight class. On paper Hendo had a better career than 99% of the fighters to ever put on 4 ounce gloves. Those Pride and Strikeforce titles were very respectable at the time he won them. The guy fought all over the world, fought under different rule sets and won titles everywhere.

are you saying Derrick Lewis and naganou boxing is on par with Mercer’s. Ray Mercer who sparked Sylvia, sparks both those guys as well easily. Heavyweight striking is atrocious.
ray mercer was choked out by kimbo before he fought tim. he was also 0-2 in kickboxing. he was 48........

I just remember 48 y.o., washed up Ray Mercer knocking him into a deep sleep. I see all of the top 10 HW's going through him easily.

lmao, your end game in this "debate" was to get me to admit something I stated right out of the gates. Thank you, we have all become more intelligent now. We can finally put aside all GOAT talks and HW/Fedor discussions.
some people like to pretend its 2007 and they're still having a pride vs ufc debate......

Tim was fun to watch win or lose. But Tim in his prime would get pieced up by the top 10 of today. God bless all you bastards.

Ngannou you dolt
Francis was in his prime? Lol ok so 32 year old (not young) guy four years into his mma career (not prime) sounds like young and in prime to you?

here’s the only reasonably good young in their prime fighter he fought: Struve! Unfortunately Got knocked out and finished violently.

Wow you're living proof that join date and belt rank do not make you a good poster

And you are proof that being an overly active poster who is able to write doesn’t make one able to comprehend!
Here’s the question again: name a single GOOD fighter that Stipe ever beat in his great career that was YOUNG and in his Prime? The answer is simply none! Stipes career is based of defeating relics from Timmeh or even Fedor era.

What’s hilarious is that stipe was less than 3 years into his mma career when he lost to Struve (after a nasty eye poke).

Nice side step good sir But question remains: did he ever beat anyone young and good in his illustrious great career?

Cool so Stipes a bum and Struve is the GOAT. Sounds legit

When you consider the curious case of big Tim you have to wonder how much sauce he was on. Considering the bullshit guys get away with now in the usada era, how tf do you get popped back when nobody cared?
They literally allow fighters to cycle and don't give a shit

How many fuck ups does Jon Jones have and they just blatantly lie lmao

Honestly though I think the latter Sylvia became a better fighter and indeed picked up his best wins over Arlovski, he could be dull and fight safe but I think his boxing improved and he used his reach more effectively.

He was always vulnerable to fast aggressive opponents although I do suspect the back injury did play a big part vs Randy, one of the shadiest episodes in MMA history IMHO, Couture using his own gym to find out a fighter was injuried and then forced him into a match with the UFC threatening to strip him if he didnt and had an op instead.

Post Fedor though he clearly went off of a cliff, got paid a load of money, didnt have much else to aim for and came back about 30lbs heavier.

2016 werdum and overeem would have been top 5 in any era and so would 2019 DC.

Do you have a link to that story about randy and tim?

That shot, landed on any other HW likely has the same effect. It was a bomb and doesn’t take away from Tim’s career at all except to signify the end of it
