You're not contradicting what he said at all. He said that most of such crimes are committed in poor areas and that most of the poor people are black.

SA will of course have some extra problems due to Apartheid still being fresh in a historical perspective (the slavery is still a very sensitive subject in the US) but having people in such terrible conditions as some live in down there will naturally produce a ton of crime in itself.

Hey Jamoke, the link is off-point. I was talking about the targets of violence.

Yes, blacks are poorer than whites, and most people who resort to crime are poor. It should follow that the percentage of blacks committing crimes is larger than the percentage of whites. It's also true that blacks are nonetheless overrepresented in jails, but that is beside the point.

My point is that crime is a creature of opportunity, and poor people can't shield themselves from crime as much as rich people can. In other words, blacks suffer more violence than whites. And when you say that blacks (criminals) are looking for white meat you just sound paranoid.
