Till vs Covington

One of my favourite fighters (Till) Vs one of my least favourite.

Hope Till beats the snitch into Bolivian and cuts a hilarious promo at Colby's expense.

Colby thinks he earned a title shot and doesn't want to fight anybody. Nobody wants Till.

170 has gone from "shark tank" to stagnant cesspool

Colby doesn't want anything to do with Till.

I hear that Colby has good wrestling, but not like Khabib level. I'm still not really sure how he talked his way into contention. He beat Maia, but shit, is he really in the title picture? Like, who else does he beat in the top 5?

Why would Colby fight a guy ranked below him? Kamaru and Till are both very dangerous, and ranked much lower.

A win over either of them doesn't get Colby a title shot. It's not being scared, it's being smart.

Surely you can see that, even if you can't stand Colby... but then again, this is Sherdog.

I don't think that's the case. I think Covington at this point has no need to fight Till. He has his sights set on a title shot. Till isn't even ranked in the top 10 yet. It would not make sense for Covington to fight him. He just came off a win of a guy that just fought for the belt.

since when ranks mean anything?

? In Welterweight, quite a bit actually. It has always traditionally been one of the UFC's strongest weight classes.

In weight classes that are wastelands like HW, you are right rankings are irrelevant.

Depends how good tills wrestling is because he would knock Colby silly standing that much is blatantly obvious

The UFC has Till at #7.

Why would Colby fight a guy ranked below him?

Because sometimes people fight other fighters ranked below them, like when Maia fought Colby.

It's not like Till and Usman are unranked, undeserving bums.

I hear you. But if you were Colby, ranked 3rd and trying for a title shot, would you fight a 7th or 9th ranked guy?

I'd got Till in that since i really don't like the other asshole.

He shouldn't be realistically waiting for a title shot. RDA is next, and he can be leapfrogged by the guys below him if they get a good win while Colby waits.

The smart move IMO would be to cement his position as the next contender picking a fight with a favorable matchup - definitely NOT Till, btw.

? So? The UFC still has Conor and Cain ranked and neither have fought in well over a year...

Besides Covington just beat the "UFC" rankings number 5 guy. Why fight the number 7?
