I got this last week. An absolute must have if you liked the original.

Cliffs:
TIE Fighter on a fan improved X-Wing Alliance engine.

Get XWA... only 10 bucks on Steam

Go to the site for step by step instructions for 3 easy (this old bastard figured it out) download installers.

Follow the instructions

Play the classic TIE Fighter (with both expansions) with new graphics and only minor changes

Or

Play most of the old missions upgraded with the new engine adding more features and more ships per battle (with more of the old missions being re-imagined currently)

This mod is fucking sick, a modern take on a classic. I can even use the mouse instead of a joystick like the old floppy disk version.

Currently playing the classic campaign on easy and loving it, once I'm done it's on to the re-imagined at a higher difficulty.

I believe so.

It has its own built in joystick emulator for folks like me who prefer a mouse.
