News Bryce Mitchell vs. Movsar Evloev set for UFC Fight Night on November 5

That really sucks if the fight doesn't happen. I was really looking forward to this fight.

Topuria vs. Mitchell would still be loads of fun, but it's a dangerous step up for Ilia. Even beyond any concerns about weight or whatever, it seems like a fight you want a dedicated training camp for centered around defensive grappling -- not one you jump into willy-nilly on (relatively) short notice.

Makes little sense to think that Bryce has a good shot at beating Evloev because one thinks he's got a good shot at rncing Evloev based on what both bring to the table.

It's like saying Oliveira has 9 rncs to his credit, so if he does finish with a choke that's likely the one he'd use against Islam.

I mean crazier things happened before, but based on what both bring to the table, whether it's evloev vs Mitchell, or Oliveira vs Islam, what makes one think it's more than a very slim likelihood of happening?

I was only agreeing because even before UFC, Evloev has some habit of leaving his neck out there, not giving up back position with hooks or no hooks in. This talk of possible rnc by Mitchell seems hella out there. He couldn't sub Fiji nor Barboza, nor Rosa, Nor Moffett, nor Diamond, but "Lesser submissions artists have come super close to taking Evloevs neck home. Bryce has the BJJ chops to end things" not based on possible weakness or positioning habit by Evloev?

I personally think Evloev is going to run right through Mitchell like hot knife through a butter. I wouldn't count Mitchell out or anything, 78/22 sounds about right, but yeah.

Would be cool for Ilia to step in either occasion. If he can handle Mitchell sub attacks and smesh I would be so happy. That's a hell of a test.

Him vs Kattar or Allen would be cool as shit as well.

I hope Evloev is okay and can fight though. Wanted to see this match up.
 
All fighters get injured in training. It only becomes newsworthy when they have to pull out of a fight because of it. Much ado about nothing so far.
 
Perfect opportunity for Topuria to step in and fight Bryce. Honestly, any match up between these 3 should be fireworks.

This is true theoretically but Evloev has put fights with both in trouble so he can't be trusted for these big fights.

Honestly I'm more interested in seeing ilia get one of these opportunities then the original matchups.
