I remember being obsessed watching this movie every time it came on cable TV in the late 80's. I can't say it is one of the greatest high school movies, but definitely a funny guilty pleasure that still holds up especially if you remember how high school was back then.

No clue, bud.

I can appreciate the effort though.

Threads like this give me nostalgia for things I didn’t even experience.

Once or twice a year someone makes a "Do You Remember Three O'Clock High" thread.

It's one of those amazing movies everyone loved but nobody really talks about.

That is one of the most under rated movies I have ever seen. When I was a kid, a huge bully accused me of calling him stupid (when it was actually another kid who did it), and he told me he was going to beat me up at lunch time, I remember the anxiety leading up to lunch time. This is actually a very funny, and pretty realistic movie about growing up during the time period that I grew up. The only unrealistic thing is the little guy beat up the huge bully.

Awesome movie

80s high school teen movies are the best.

Fast times
Sixteen candles
Breakfast club
Lucas
3 o'clock high

Yeah, it makes you think how much times have changed. Back then it was pretty much your own responsibility to deal with a bully. There would be more of a stigma on the person who complained about a bully than on the bully themselves.

This was a great flick. I thought Buddy was the coolest looking dude I had ever seen. No homo?

TOUCH FREAK... they called him a touch freak. unsubstantiated lies. All of them.

But in serous, i cosign the other bolded thoughts. Favorite seen was when he does the arithmatic on the chalk board and shows up Jerry and the School Narc.

I knew it was the other kid who called him stupid, but the worst thing you could be was a rat, so I was willing to take the beating. Times have really changed, everyone is a snitch now. To continue my story, I was getting beaten up and the lunch monitors broke it up pretty early. I was scared for the rest of the day that he was going to finish what he started at lunch. Toward the end of the day, the bully spotted the kid who actually called him stupid, so he told me he was not going to beat me up anymore (He never apologized). The next day before school that kid got beaten up really badly. Not because I was a better fighter, rather because he got the kid before school started and there were no lunch monitors around to save him.

right in the childhood

Cool name man, I am guessing you are a fan of this particular flick.

Yeah, it is cool how they did things to give Buddy depth and a code he lived by. At the beginning of the movie you just perceive him as a mindless violent thug, but at the end you know there must be more to his story even though they do not necessarily give it away.

You guessed right. I always loved how there's some poetry to how the big jock who the lead tried to payoff top beat up Buddy got KTFO. Ultimately, the put upon kid had to find the stones to fight for himself.

The movie is loosely inspired by the Gary Cooper movie 'High Noon', a legit classic, and carries some of the same undertones about honor and bravery. But unlike the badguy in High Noon, Frank Miller, Revell is an interesting stand alone character. And like you said, they didn't over explain.

High Noon is my all time favorite movie!
