I started again on Saturday afternoon. Currently on the house of the undying episode.

I forgot that Daenerys was such an interesting character, it’s amazing how stale she became when she became “the breaker of chains” later on.

Robb was a badass. It’s so frustrating watching him go for Talisa the second time round when I know what’s coming next.

Tyrion as the hand is straight money. The small side story of weeding out Janos Slynt and Pycele was great. You could really tell he was the smartest person in Kings Landing at that point, maybe besides Varys.

I fucking hate Shae.

Great point on Danny. So much more depth in the first couple episodes when we hardly know her.

I got Judo tonight so I'll see if I can fit Ep 3 in.

It's odd because in season 2, Tyrion as Hand of the King is great, just ultra effective and he only gets ousted because the asshole politics of his family (and the fact that, of course, he was only holding the position in his father's stead). But in seasons 6-8 they made him fail at every turn in that capacity- almost as though it was just a plot contrivance to further cement the ultimate falling out with Daenerys.

I really think that the whole Daenerys story could have played out much better. You have so much hype around the coming together of highly intelligent and shrewd Tyrion and Dany and her crew and yet it all ends up just as, "we didn't see this violent dictator coming."

Robb was great.

I know a lot of people point out that he was dumb for oathbreaking with Frey and that's what led to his downfall. But, at the end of the day, Late Lord Frey was a petty doucher who was lucky he was getting anything in any negotiation. Tully was his liege lord. Could have just ordered him to let Robb and co. pass the bridge.

Gods Jamie was so much better as the preppy popular jock (in fantasy land) archtype than the brooding tragic hero type. And the seeds of the inevitable Ed vs Jamie fight are even more sown: Please JBG let them Bang!

1st meeting of the Small Council:
Renly- Done dirty by the show. Don't care about the gay thing, Renly was supposed to be who Bobby B was... Yoked, charismatic and masculine AF.... Gay dudes should be pissed about being stereotyped as feminine in modern media.

Varys- You should fear this man...(nobody knows he's a eunich yet)

LF- This smug fucker is the nerd who hinted he banged a chick when he didnt, wears his one fight that was an ass kicking as a badge of honor, but has the most business sense so you can't kill him.

Pycelle- General Veers pretending to be a dumb old bastard....when in reality he's preparing his men for ground assault

Joff is the reason he is because of Cersei...but I still wood her. She shows in the scene that Joff isnt ready for the Varsity yet, but she's just wainting for her chance to get in the Game and wreck shit.

Stark chicks are are believable siblings. Good on them.

Kat going to KL is stupid, even the book couldn't sell me on this. LF announces his entry in the Game to Varys.

Jamie and Cersei doing a great job of making us hate them

Bobby B being drunk gives reddit material. You could see how Jamie looked up to Selmy and when Barry gave Jamie the slightest respect in his first kill story that Jamie loved it.... Fuck D&D for killing Barry the Bold....

We get Hodor, Mountain, Gendry and Sam introduced in this episode...so that's good.
