I just rewatched this film after a long time having not seeing it.

And what a film, fantastic film.

You probably thought I'd pick the classic Peter Finch scene.

But this scene won Beatrice Straight an Oscar, literally. And she only had 5 min of screen time. Shortest screen time to ever win an Academy Award.

 
It's ok. There are much better scenes in that movie.

TBH I'm surprised she won an Oscar for that. But then I never liked that old theatrical acting style.

I thought it was a masterclass acting performance.

Btw how is it theatrical? She's angry, but I don't think it's over the top. It's perfect balanced acting imo.
 
Pretty weak tbh, expected more from her. No woman is going to let you touch her after cheating on her.
