1. I doubt it happens. I think the cut would be too much for him. He was already drawn out at 170 4 years ago. Anybody that bitches about weight cutting should be against this happening. I must repeat, I don't think this fight happens.

2. He should go directly to fight Khabib. What would he get out of ragdolling Nate Diaz?

Nate is:
6-6 in his last 12
4-4 in his last 8
3-3 in his last 6
2-2 in his last 4
1-1 in his last two.

That is the exact resume of a gatekeeper. The goat is supposedly dropping a weight class to fight a gatekeeper?

I hope this fight doesn't happen. I doubt GSP could make the weight.

Just look how drawn out he was 5 years ago at 170:

He looks amazing in those pics you just posted, far from drawn out. 155 will be tough, he will have to lose muscle mass but give him enough time & he could make it, don't think he makes it for August.

Not too much to thought about actualy, GPS is determent to get into few money fights before he permanently retire,
so that's that, it is what it is , can't find better fight then simple Nate.

You understand that he can choose to lose muscle mass if he wants? Its ridiculous to think he’s just going to cut 15 extra pounds of water.

I fucking hate cherry picked numbers, just list his whole damn record instead of trying to bash a fighter because he's "1-1 in his last 2".

Sherdog needs to stop bashing fighters with damn cherry picked shit.

GSP in a USADA testing pool over a length of time is a natural 155lb fighter.

It is not coincidence that people have dropped weight classes since it’s introductionz

Another 170er

GSP was always a small WW tbh.

Colitis made him lose weight, though. But I definitely dont think he should cutting weight with a illness that already has him skinny. In the pics hes shown his face looks sucked out like in those weigh in pics you put, so im guessing hes already 170. They can probably do a catch weight at 160... but even then.. Nate will price himself out and the fight just doesnt make sense.

Yes and considering he put on weight and went up a division? You must understand that the point you just made literally makes no sense....It's painfully dumb...

I remember GSP stating that his walk-around weight was about 190 and that was 5 years ago. Gleison Tibau would cut from this weight regularly. Surely with an amazing nutritionist and enough time before the fight, GSP could get down to 155.

Quiet honestly, I'd prefer he retires for good. LW would be tough for him at his age now. WW is his natural fighting weight, but there isn't a WW around worth his effort. MW is too tough given his stated condition.
Ride into the sunset and enjoy life.

No offense, but this is a bewildering non sequitur. GSP cut an average amount of weight at 170. Tibau is probably on of the absolute best cutters of all time. He's in the top 1% probably. I would not compare him to GSP.

Literally doing anything to avoid WW

Why Nate when he beat Nick?

GSP's real target is Conor

But, it doesn’t make sense to give GSP a free TS in a division where he’s never attempted to make that weight. That’s the reason for it to happen. To see if he can do it. It would be a HUGE fail to book a title fight. And then have GSP miss weight.

The same reason TJ sould have to prove he can make FLW.

Those are my thoughts on the thing.

If he can make it safely, then I'd be interested.

But I have no interest in squash matches.

I mean, how far back do you have to go for it to stop being 'cherry picking' ? A fighter on a five fight streak is often enough to put himself in conversations for a title shot, and he took more than twice that number as a sample size...
