I was listening to breakfest club this morning for the donkey of the day and charalman? Said something that stuck with me, he said

"You do not get to pick and chose the consequences for your actions."

He was talking about a 17yr kid who got killed for breaking into someone home and getting caught in the act. Of course the 17yr's people were making some dumbass excuses for him and shit but thats not really the point.

Do you agree or understand what he means when he says "You can not pick and chose the consequences for your actions."

I think he's right. You can't control the consequences of your actions, just your actions. You just have to deal with the consequences if you don't like them.

I agree. You can control only your actions. You can try and anticipate the consequences of your actions, and normally, people can do a pretty good job of anticipating the direct, short-term consequences. However, we also have to deal with the long-term and cascading effects of our actions, which can undoubtedly be much more difficult to predict.

In Japan, it is considered disgusting to blow your nose in public. In fact, the Japanese word for “snot” is literally “nose shit”. Therefore, it is best to excuse yourself to the restroom, blow your nose in private, and wash your hands immediately before returning to your group.
