Hate/fun/nutthuggery apart..

Could you explain how Conor is wining this time?

IMHO he´s not building cardio to point-fight nate, he´s not outstriking him and he´s not even close to submit him / grapplefuck him

Maybe I´m wrong but I think his only chance is a lucky punch that can put nate away

What makes you think Conor has a solid chance of beating 100% camp nate this time?

I feel conor will implement his kicks more to stop nate from coming forward. Oblique and body kicks.

I still think nate takes it 7/10 times.

Anything can happen in an MMA fight but I don't see Conor beating him. Nate took clean shots from Conor and kept coming. Point fighting Nate will be difficult because that means that Conor hits him more often but not as hard. In that scenario, Nate just keeps coming forward and piling up damage with his peppering punches. Conor might last longer but would most likely gas in the later rounds.

Look at the fighters that gave Conor the hardest fights (Holloway, Mendes and Diaz). What was the one thing they all had in common? Short notice. Conor strongest attribute is his intelligence and ability to pick up on one's natural patterns etc. The greatest fighter he fought was Aldo and we all saw what happened when he had a year to prep. Conor is much more a cerebral fighter than physical grinder.

Also, the hardest thing to do is properly go up in weight in a short period of time. Conor should have fought at 155 but his belief in himself superceeded common sense. Even fighters like Cruz said he feels like S if he doesn't cut some weight. This was Conor's first fight ever where he didn't cut weight and lacked all prior fight preparations that he had before and it showed. Before the punch, Conor lost all movement, was flat footed, gassed and standing squarely in front of Diaz. Prior to Aldo, he was calm, quiet and prior to Diaz, he was trying to hard to hype the fight and couldn't get his pre fight zen on, the calm that allowed him to take more damage from Mendes and storm forward and KO him.

Technique did not fail him. His gas tank did. Infact, when he wasn't gassed, he was having his way with Diaz (not disputable) Not saying he will win but it DEFINITELY warrants a rematch and the first fight was awesome. If the fight were originally at 45 or even 55, I'd see case for no rematch but Conor went up two weight classes in 3 months; something no other UFC fighter has done in history and with good reason. We should reward fighters for taking risks, saving cards and not rake them over the coals. The well rounded cerebral fighter that we saw vs Holloway turned into a prophetic global rockstar that was looking to out do all his previously absurdly lofty achievements and should have been fine w/ just a W.

It depends if Conor can throw away his pride and stop chasing the knockout. Rewatching their fight Diaz did almost nothing in the first round, he was on full defensive mode. If Conor can mix in leg kicks and body shots (gives Nate a lot more to think about) and slow down his pace, he'd take the W imo.

All Conor has is a puncher's chance lol literally.

Haters gonna hate.

People hate to admit this, and I love both these fighters, but conor did not look or fight against Nate at all like he had in previous fights. He fought with total disrespect and disregard for Nate. Conor always uses a lot of pressure, but against Aldo and in other fights he was much more measured in every aspect. I felt his defensive movement in particular was sharper and he NEVER reached on offense.

He gave absolutely no fucks about Nate or his boxing and went straight after him recklessly. Didn't worry about defense, didn't worry about staying balanced, he just completely through the kitchen sink at Nate.

When you're reaching, you have less power. When you're unbalanced, winding up and swinging wildly, you have less power. When you keep your base, keep your technique tight and pick your shots, you are a much more devastating fighter. He understands how to box, he just didn't do it at all against Nate.

I think Nate's size, skill and chin are huge factors and it definitely affected Conor's ability to do what he wanted. But I think the real story of that fight is in the way Conor was fighting like he was had really begun to drink his own kool aid

He abandoned technique, abandoned strategy and simply looked like shit

You know it doesn't matter, both guys were keeping pace until McGregor got hurt. I don't believe it was a gas thing, Conor just not use to being hurt and he didn't know how to deal with it.

Nates been there and back it ain't no thing for him.

If rematch is what's gonna happen I give good odds for both fighters pulling it off. Except if it goes to the ground, thats nates territory.

not saying there is corruption in mma but you can never rule it out. anything is possible. maybe its a 3 round fight and the judges gift him a decision.

Longer fighters give him problems and a shitty ground game.

Don't chase the KO, use leg kicks and counterstrike.

You know that saying punch a black belt and he turns into a white belt?

Well, kick a diaz and he turns into a tentative shin bag.

Bullshit

First of all for you to sit here and say that he was measured against Aldo is a fucking farce. That fight lasted a whole 13 seconds, only thing you can take away from that is Conor won bottom line.

Secondly COnor always fights the same way, he went after Diaz much like he does everyone else except Diaz took his shots and didn't crumble much like Buster Douglas and Tyson. I will give you he may have been a bit more aggressive because he may have thought Nate was out of shape and he could get him out of there early but I didn't see much difference in his style if any at all. He carried the same power he did in those other fights and his technique was fine, Nate just didn't fall like he expected him to in round 1. Round 2 was a bit different and if anything, if Conors technique changed it was because he was starting to get tired and he was starting to get hit both of which he hasn't dealt with too much outside of the Mendes fight.

He was landing good shots in the first, shots that would have impacted most fighters at 145. In his mind those same shots were landing and he expected them to have the same effect and when they didn't instead of dialing it back and picking his shots to conserve energy to last 5 rounds he kept up his onslaught. That's the way he fights. This to me, is a unveiled excuse of a post for Conor.

Dude lost by doing what he always does. The only thing I may be willing to except is he may have went a bit harder then usual trying to get Nate out of there in the 1st for obvious reasons. Funny how he had a full camp and he gassed and funny how everyone wants to use the excuse that the only fights that have been close is when they've been on short notice bullshit. That's like me saying Mendes would beat Conor with a full camp, fucking ridiculous..

I'm convinced that mcgregor will improve dramatically as he is my favorite fighter. Nate is not my favorite fighter, therefore he will probably decline in skill and conditioning for the next fight.

the Diaz brothers usually have problems with leg kicks, due to that boxing stance.
McGregor isn't known for his leg kicks though... should use the oblique kick to the leg...
also I think he needs not to be so fixated on knocking nate out, dude is really hard to finish.
possibly be more of a "point fighter" who paces himself for five rounds... rather than blowing his load in the 1st or two rounds

(lots of peps with same opinion above)

his only chance is doctor stoppage via cut.
He can't outbox him, can't go 3+ rounds without being subb'd, mayyybe point fight him, his best bet is doctor stoppage

Read the first two parts and stopped. I see you as totally wrong

He fought Diaz like nobody else. I said this in real time. Less than 60 seconds into the fight I noticed and mentioned it. So we just disagree.

You think Conor can go
5 rounds with Diaz and out point him?
