- Collector is killed in GOTG vol 2 post credits scene by Thanos when he comes for the Reality Gem
- First 5 minutes takes place with the Grandmaster bargaining with Hela to restore his brother to life. We see she has the Soul Stone and Collector's soul floats around them. Grandmaster suggests a contest, each will pick a team of 5 representatives from throughout the universe (no immortals or undead) they will battle one on one and the first team to 3 wins gets the prize (better chance that Thor vs Hulk is the wager but I want teams). Grandmaster wagers his soul as his prize.
- We see Thor arriving in Asgard just after AoU everything is fine at first till he starts noticing weird things about Odin then he finds out that Loki is in charge, he is miffed to say the least. He grabs Loki by the ear dragging him to the Bifrost making him explain what he did to Odin (Loki had used some Dark Elf magic to keep Odin hidden from Heimdall and an illusion to make him think he was a Midgardian bum). They teleport to Earth but before they find Odin, Hela arrives (like in the concept art) and she is in need of the son of Odin but Thor is busy. Suddenly Grandmaster teleports in behind Thor, grabs him and teleports away yelling out "This one is MINE"! Hela is shown arriving at the arena with Loki, she is dejected. Grandmaster explains the situation to Thor and being a man who has had brother problems he agrees to help. Each team captain introduces each member of each team.
- For Grandmaster: From Asgard Thor Odinson, From Korbin Beta Ray Bill, From Vanaheim Skurge, From Hala Mar-Vell and from Zen-Whoberi Gamora.
- Hela's side: From Earth Hulk, From Alfheim Sir Ivory Honeyshot, From nowhere in particular Ulik the Troll King, From Hala Phyla-Vell (Quasar) and from Jotunheim Loki Laufeyson.
- We spend some time learning about each member of the team as an arena is prepped for this Contest of Champions. It will be about an hour from Thor being taken to the arena to leaving in run time.
- Hela informs everyone in the name of fairness no enchanted items will be allowed in the arena. Thor must leave his hammer behind.
- The matches are: Loki & Gamora starts us off, big brawler battle with Bill vs Ulik, Phyla-Vell against Mar-Vell in a father/daughter power band battle, soft handsomeness vs rugged handsomeness with Honeyshot vs Skurge and last Thor vs Hulk to decide it all.
- Loki uses illusions to get Gamora off her game but she fends him off on each attack until she thinks she has stabbed him only for him to jump on her back wrapping her head in his cloak and smothering her, "this thing doesn't breathe very well and neither do you". Loki wins via Technical Submission. 1-0 Hela
- Phyla ends up outlasting her dad with the Quantum Bands. Phyla-Vell wins. 2-0 Hela
- Beta Ray has a slobberknocker battle with Ulik that see him using one of the many weapons hanging on the arena walls (a hammer as it were) to beat Ulik to a pulp. Bill wins. 2-1 Hela
- Then we get Honeyshot (who the ladies of the arena love) trying to stay at range with his guns as Skurge with a shield and his axe slowly makes his way in. He ends up getting Honeyshot down and looks like he's gonna kill him with his own gun but the ladies of the arena are raining down boos so he crushes the gun in his hand while muttering "Women always finding something to hate about me" (a tease at a broken relationship with Enchantress that we might see). 2-2
- Finally we have Thor vs Hulk and it is a doozy. Thor wields numerous weapons but Hulk keeps breaking them, he ends up with the Ultimate hammer (with no powers) and Hulk has armor with sword. Taking a note from his brother Thor takes Hulk's back (like in Avengers) and puts the handle across the throat of the Hulk and his feet on his shoulders and arches his back and chokes Hulk out (Loki is seen jumping up and down cheering for this). Thor looks at the bent up handle of his weapon and bends it back into shape and gives it a kiss. 3-2 Grandmaster (Hela's team blew a 2-0 lead, what are they any playoff team this year).
- Hela holding back her anger revives the Collector. Collector gives Thor and Loki the address to someone who can help them find Odin. Thor welcomes all the brave warriors here back to Asgard to feast after a great day of fighting once he has found his father. Bill, Skurge, Honeyshot and an annoyed Hulk agree.
- They visit Dr Strange who quickly tracks down the Asgardian energy signature. The Doc also mentions that the records show that Asgard robbed a previous Sorcerer Supreme of the Orb of Agamotto and he would like it back.
- We see a montage of Odin back on the throne while Asgard celebrates and the warriors feast. Hela on the other hand has been gathering great enemies of Asgard (Fenris Wolf and Jormungand the Midgard Serpent) to kill Thor and Hulk for that final match. Last she goes to Muspelheim and calls to Surtur wondering if he would like to visit Asgard, we see big flaming feet enter the frame.
- Suddenly the ground in Asgard shakes as Hela and an army of the undead have arrived and are on the march. Asgard's army meets them only for the big guns to attack from another angle. Sif and the Warriors 3 lead the charge against the army, Thor goes after Hela, Loki distracts the Wolf, Odin and Hulk go for Surtur while the other arena warriors climb along the snake.
- Hela is able the use the energy of her stone to smash Mjolnir. Thor is horrified (or Thorrified). Loki jumps in to battle her as Sif and the Warriors 3 go after the Wolf. Only with the power of teamwork do the forces of Asgard drive the enemy force back as Odin and his 2 sons use a combined Odin Force blast to send Hela and Surtur flying into the Bifrost and launching them across space. Jormungand gets his head smashed by Hulk while Thor uses the Ultimate hammer to smash Fenris.
- Odin uses his magic to enchant this new weapon with the power that Mjolnir had until the Uru can be reforged.
- As the exhausted combatants celebrate a flying chair lowers down behind them out of focus. It is Loki who first sees it and looks like he crapped his pants. It is Thanos, here for the Space Stone in Odin's vault. He walks through everyone; one punches Hulk in the gut, picks up Loki (saying I'll do much worst to you later) then uses him as a club to beat Thor, he just blast everyone else to the side BUT Odin stands in front of what is left of his castle saying that Thanos can take the stone from his cold dead hands, Thanos grins as he powers up the reality stone. Odin unleashes everything he has but the last battle left him drained. Thanos beats Odin to death as bloody and broken Thor and Loki look on. Thor wearily raises he hand reaching for his dad before passing out.
- Thanos walks into the vault. He sees the show room Gauntlet from Thor 1, he removes the fake stones from it and puts it on. He walks to the end of the vault and as he grabs the Tesseract suddenly the wall in front of him opens and the Destroyer walks out and fires upon Thanos. The smoke clears and nothing is there, we see that Thanos teleported behind him, Thanos smirks and teleports the Destroyer away perhaps to wherever Red Skull went. Thanos smiles and says Xandar is beautiful this time of year, he teleports away as we fade to black. Movie lasts about 2 and a half hours.
ALT VERSION OF THANOS ARRIVAL: When he reaches for Loki it is an illusion as Loki ran for the vault the moment he saw Thanos. Loki grabs the Stone, the Gauntlet and the Orb then teleports past Thanos who was running into the Vault. Thanos tussles with the Destroyer inside as Loki teleports everyone out of Asgard. So we'd have one stone and per side leading into IW.
- Post Credit scene 1: We open on the flaming ruins of Asgard, everyone is standing around the fallen Odin and Thor kneels crying over him.
Loki: We have no time to grieve brother, Thanos will not stop until he has all of the stones and at that point it will be too late. Your friends on Midgard, they have a few do they not?
Thor wipes the tears from his eyes and stands up grabbing his new hammer. He looks to Sif and the Warriors 3.
Thor: Prepare his body for the trip to Valhalla. I will return with Thanos' head for the ceremony.
Loki: Before we go I'll grab the Orb for that Sorcerer, probably best I ingratiate myself to the people of Midgard.
- Post Credit scene 2: We see the Nova Corps headquarters as everyone is doing work and John C Reilly is looking over case files (maybe namedropping someone from Marvel lore) when suddenly Thanos teleports in front of him. "I'm looking for one of these" holds up hand "have you seen it" he clinches his fist as the stones glow.
