Did anyone else get the impression watching Thor that a lot of the lines he has sound like they were written for Archer, but were delivered with a "sitcom dad" delivery?

Obviously Helmsworth delivered them exactly like Marvel wanted, because the executives are notorious in controlling the shoot to the point that they control how each and every line is delivered (as many actors have complained about), but a lot of the lines seemed to me that they could go either way (goofy sitcom dad vs arrogant Archer) and a bit of arrogance would be far more in keeping with the arrogant and prideful Thor we've seen so far.

That was my thought walking away from the movie other than, meh. It's unfortunate that they ruined the Hulk reveal in every piece of marketing because they really built it up well in the movie. I would literally have shit my pants if I had no idea the Hulk was in it.

Agreed on them keeping Hulk a secret, but at this point the movies rely so heavily on the tie-ins they feel they can't market a movie with just 1 Avenger. And in this regard I think it was financially smart, most people weren't geeked for another Thor movie after 1+2, but you add Hulk into it and it's not just Thor 3, it's kind of an Avengers movie.

But honestly I'd have to watch it again to see what you're talking about, because I was getting a way more youthful vibe from Thor in this, I think the humor almost gave him a "rebel teenager" persona.

Hmmn. We might be describing the same thing because I would describe a sitcom dad as an immature goofball.

I do know that Thor was the least interesting character the entire movie
