Taika Waititi is returning to the many worlds of Thor. Waititi has inked a deal to write and direct a follow-up to his 2017 smash, Thor: Ragnarok.
I didn’t realize he did Ragnarok. That’s probably my favorite superhero movie.

Still, I can’t imagine a movie about Thor learning how to garden is going to be any good.

It’s seriously impressive for a woman of her age to get actually bulked up arms. I thought she’d get toned up, because bulk on arms for women is tough. But that’s impressive

It's cgi. You really think 41 year old Portman, who has had a slender/petite frame her entire life is suddenly going to have delts popping and noticeable bi's and tri's after a few months lifting?

This is Portmans bulked physique.

That was my guess

I'm just...not excited about this movie. I feel almost like I'm MCU'd out. Hate to say it after being in this since the beginning. Saw an out of theater first reaction and the dude said it wasn't as good as Ragnorak. That's all I needed to hear. With the exception of Wahiti and the Russo Brothers, the character of Thor has been wasted. He was meh in his first 2 movies, ok in the first Avengers, meh in Ultron and great in Ragnorak, Infinity War and Endgame.

I'll catch it on Disney+ in a few months.

To be honest, Bale is really the only part of this movie I'm excited about. Even in mediocre films, Bale always brings the heat. Given the prominence given to Foster and Valkyrie, I wouldn't be surprised if Thor is almost a guest star in his own movie.

Naw Hemsworth too big a Star to be a side character

Reminds me of the body transformation articles that they snuck into trade magazines over the last twenty years. "Bale/Jackman/Hemsworth/Evans transforms body with mild weight training, chicken and rice and 4 bottles of water a day.

I did not like the trailer but I am all in anyway because I loved Ragnorak and it is the same star / creative team.

A friend of mine is in the industry and he saw most or all of it a month ago. He said it was not as good as Ragnorak but still a really good, fun movie.

I think it is going to do really well in the theatres. The release timing is great with minimum competition. MCU movies are a machine. Ragnorak was really well received. It has Pratt and the Guardians in it as secondary stars. It is all lining up for it to be a success IMO

Watching summer blockbusters on Disney plus is just robbing yourself of the experience. Don't even bother IMO.
I didn’t care for Ragnarok. I think I dislike this director’s type of humor. I know he’s very popular but he comes across as trying too hard to be funny and it comes off as cringey to me. I’m glad you’re excited though

Pretty much confirmed in this clip she has tracking markers on her arms. Likely not to make them look like Thors arms but to enhance the size and definition. They also confirmed they made some form of modifications on her to make her seem larger and taller.

Either way buff Portman should choke me with one hand and jerk me off with the other

She stood on a platform my guess they digitally removed the platform in post and digitally lengthen her body to normalize her look as a 6 foot tall woman. Because I look at her body and it's to scale there does not look like short girl legs with the knees in an inappropriate shape.

I dont get the love for this waititi guy. Everything I have seen him make or be in is not funny. That free guy movie was terrible and he ruined ragnarok with jokes and overused rock music in important scenes. Just not a fan of his gimmick.

got my tickets for Thursday. reviews seem a bit mild vs. standard MCU but I am still looking forward to it

I don’t think he directed free guy, I’m with you on Ragnarok having too many jokes though. Have you seen JoJo Rabit though? He directed that and I thought it was Awesome.

According to Jeremy Jahn's review, this new movie is more of that pushed to 11, so don't waste your time.

I for one enjoyed Ragnarok, but I'm pretty much done with the MCU at this point.

As the other poster above me said, Jojo Rabbit is great.

Huge MCU fan here and I’ll watch this gladly, but yeah Phase 4 has been a bust so far. Haven’t enjoyed much of it; don’t blame others for bailing.
