Mads Mikkelsen would be my first round draft pick for Doom. But I've no doubt Bale would kill it. Especially if he goes full Method for the role, like he did for The Machinist...

Agreed. But as you said, his role was so meaningless(although Mads is always fun to watch)that I don't think many fans will have a problem with him coming back in another role. Helped of course by the fact that Doom will be masked for most of his screen time.

The rumor I saw was for God Butcher (which was one of my picks and makes sense given the context), but I’d like to add the High Evolutionary to the mix. He would definitely mix in well with the Eternals storyline in the overall phase.

Disappointed - I'd rather have had Bale as Osborn - but not surprised. At this stage of his career, I doubt Bale's interested in a contract that ties him to multiple MCU films over many years. He'll take a big payday for a one and done villain. Probably thee God Butcher.

I could see that putting off a lot of guys who are either rising or established "stars" so I wouldn't be supprised if it ends up being cast as a middle aged character actor who doesn't care as much about visibility.
