Hard punchers with shaky chins. The definition of a don't blink fight. I think Hearns would win most of the time, but Jackson could land first and get the KO.

Hearns 9 times out of 10. Far better fighter in every aspect other than maybe power

I am biased though

He should have had no issue with Barkley then. He was better than Barkley at everything.

Hearns is clearly the better boxer, but he's got to keep Jackson off of him. He'd be in great danger when Jackson gets puffy eyes and looks right about to get stopped : that's when Barkley got him and Jackson got Graham. I'd give Jackson a 25% puncher's chance.

Jackson knocks Hearns out I don't think Hearns hurts Jackson enough to finally stop him , Jacksons chin is actually stronger then people think and it took big punchers a lot of rounds to finally stop him, after themselves either getting bombed on and wobbled, but Thomas had a more china chin and if hit flush was on shaky legs in every war.

Jackson could go to war with everyone and still have a chance, Hearns couldn't go to war with everyone and could easily get knocked out early and Jackson would win the chin war against Hearns in their fight.

Hearns using movement isn't outboxing Jackson in their fight just ask Terry Norris who tried that and got bombed on the ropes and Jackson chasing Hearns and making him fight like Hagler did, Hearns will trade bombs and Julian will keep coming and eventually stop Hearns.

It's hard to say. Jackson was deceptively fast according to some who fought him, I believe McCallum is who Im specifically thinking of saying so, but not 100% sure on that. Hearns was an amazing boxer, amazing puncher, but I can't put out of my mind how rocked he was vs lesser punchers than Jackson. Jackson shut lights OUT. Like maybe no one else in history could.

Due to extreme violence, the fight would have never been sanctioned.

Gerald McClellan punched even harder than Julian. Why not have him instead for the hypothetical? Julian Jackson was not a boxers boxer... He just had the big punch, not much else.

How often do all-time great boxers lose to a one trick power puncher? It almost never happens... Sugar Ray Leonard vs Roberto Duran does not count (if you want to use that as an example) since Leonard wanted a sluggfest first match and was foolhearted. I think Duran is better than that, but SRL is on a different planet as a boxer than he ever was.

Hearns would keep him on the outside and nuke him out. First guy to get hit loses, and that'd probably be Jackson.

Duran quit against Leonard.

Well, it could happen to Hearns.

Very good point

As much as I hate to admit it g man would likely ko hearns more often than not

50/50 fight. Prime Jackson’s chin was not glass like people claim.

McClellan was not a harder puncher than Jackson. Jackson would drop guys dead with one punch. McClellan punched hard but used relentless pressure to stop most guys.

His hardest punch looked harder than Jacksons. And it was a punch on Jackson of all people.

McClellan was a pro 5 yrs when they fought, Julian Jackson had 12 yrs of surviving off his "one trick", McClellan was supposed to be the younger stronger puncher in that fight. Match em up when Hawk was closer to his prime, Hawk KOs him. Had Gman badly hurt in their first fight.

Hearns was no shrub when it came to power punching either. Dude had Dynamite in his hands.

Hearns probably wins 4 out 5 fights against Jackson, while one of them ends with him wearing the oxygen mask.
