This middleweight division is the best division of all time

During Anderson Silva's heyday, the middleweight division was considered the weakest division without a doubt, alongside the heavyweight division with Tim Sylvia as a champion. I have a no doubt in my mind any of the top 5 guys in middleweight division who unfortunately have to fight each other would have violated Anderson Silva in a way that's more mindblowing than his dick pill excuse after testing positive for roids in his first ever random drug testing of his career.

It is very arguable they would have. I assume if Silva beat anyone in the top5, my pick would be Rockhold and I have felt that way since everyone was touting Rockhold "the best MW in the world" silliness.

Would have been even better if Jacare, Yoel and Gegard all got a title shot years ago. The UFC's idiotic match making and greedy Bisping screwed one of the best divisions up.

And hard to tell that about Silva.
Sure, MW got better, MMA got better, USADA came.
Whitaker, Jacare, Romero, Rockhold, Weidman, Gastelum - all of them are top MW.
Only Weidman fought Silva from this list. And Silva was 37, 38 then. (I know, Romero is 40, but people age differently and Silva has more mileage)

Except Chael, Silva defended with ease his belt, from what I remember.
And Rich, Hendo, Nate, Maia, Vitor, Cote were no cans, come on.

GSP WW division was better but just dominated by the GOAT. Every contender was a killer until they met GSP. Highest PPV except for Brock.

LW has always been a shark pool.

LHW during the Rashad/Machida/Shogun period was the money division until Jones turned up and just clowned everybody.

I agree. It’s the natural weight class for athletic men - genetics. Maybe weight cutting will change that in the future.

MW was the WW/LHW reject division. Especially during Jones’/GSP’ reign of terror.

Anderson would have beaten all of them in his prime. All by spectacular fashion. His towel boy easily TKO'd Romero, he's do it better. Luke would be the easiest KO of his career. Jacare gets KO'd eventually. Weidman gets stopped late, we already saw his real worth as a fighter when he stopped facing old men. RW is the toughest matchup but is knockoutable as we've seen in the past.

I feel like a prime silva clowns anyone in this mw division. On paper Romero gives him trouble but actually watching him fight, silva would matrix him. Whittaker would get sliced up too.
