The offense is still there. You can see the talent. There are just simply too many killers at BW and too many issues with his ability to withstand damage. The uppercut was nice, but it should've been a knockdown instead of a knockout.

If Dana matches him against O'Malley next, I'm going to lose my mind.

Moraes is probably getting cut. He fought nothing but the best though which is what everyone wanted when he was coming in from WSOF. But yeah he came in and rose up to a title shot but then fell off a cliff.

Skill wise and speed/power wise he is an amazing fighter. His leg and body kicks are absolutely brutal. For some reason, mystery to me is that as soon as he lands one good and hurt his opponent, he stop using them. Same thing does Barboza and Petis. Instead of capitalise on the succes, they switch to just boxing. I tried to figure it out for years..

I'd be surprised if he's not getting cut. He's being paid $120 show win. I'd imagine his pricetag alone makes him on the chopping block.

I'd say it's a pretty good chance he's gone. He's six figures to show on a losing streak. They're in cost cutting mode and that's an easy prune to make.

He's had a Renan Barao like drop off. Looked like a killer then 1 fight later he can't even win a fight in the UFC. Crazy stuff.

Wonder if it's menta, physical, or a combination of both.

His chin and any piece of durability is completely gone. 4 Brutal stoppages in a row. Merab one the most concerning. After a good start his spirit kinda abandoned him and there he was eating unanswered from someone not known from their stopping power.

I wouldn’t be surprised…..Marlon vs Cody ?

They aren’t paying him his win bonus and he is giving up spectacular wins to rising prospects. Might be money worth it.

A lot of fighters are never the same after a bad loss - being on the brink of the title then getting gassed and destroyed by a smaller one-armed/one-legged Cejudo shook Marlons confidence to the core and he’s never been the same since (though at least had flashes of his old self against Aldo he still was a changed fighter).

As soon as he eats a big shot/gets taken down/gets tired he looks like he is having flashbacks to the Cejudo fight and mentally shuts down.

Same thing happened to Barao after the Dillashaw fight - I think it’s probably because their styles are based around scaring off opponents with power. Once they lose faith in that aspect of their game it’s a house of cards and all the pieces start breaking apart, just takes a tough fighter to pressure them consistently to bring it out.

The guy has fought nothing but absolute monsters his entire UFC career

UFC don't really do it but a lay up would be nice lol

That was kind of a weird one. I still feel like that fight could have been stopped and it would've put Marlon back in the win column, instead the ref let Merab take a beating (twice) and let the fight go longer than it should have. Good for Merab to survive and finish a totally gassed opponent, but that should've been a TKO win for Marlon.

I know...coulda, woulda, shoulda, but still....

His chin looks shot. It's a shame cause he seems to still have the skills otherwise to be top 5.

Have they said they are in cost cutting mode?
