Dave Herman, a former UFC HW with 15 KO wins, just fought Kalib Starnes for 15 minutes, hit him with everything but the kitchen sink, and never had him in real danger. Doesn't mean HWs can't KO guys. Just like this fight doesn't mean they always can.
