This is the most underrated KO ever.

He always had great hand speed. I don't think its that great of a KO though. Better than Conor's KO over Poirier imo
His run of KO’s of brandoa, Dustin, Siver and Mendes while quite impressive aren’t particularly good looking KO’s. You could add his most recent fight with cowboy to the list. Impressive yes, but a tad anticlimactic for lack of a better word.

Same thing nearly happened to Justin. MJ coulda had a sneaky great resume if he won a couple of the fights he was about to

Imo emmet is the real hands of stone in the ufc dude got dinamite for fists.

It is one of them yes - lol at the butthurt Poirier fans in this thread, just like all the butthurt Tony fans after MJ smashed him back in the day.

MJ would have knocked Conor out stiff.

Stout-Edwards gets my vote. So clean.
And shocking. That was his only finish in the UFC. "Hands of Stone"? I've mentioned it here before, but I was mocking his nickname to my buddies just seconds before he slept Edwards. It was pretty hilarious.

When was MJ ever in his prime? He had peaks and valleys but he was never consistent enough to have a prime.

Around the time he was beating up Lauzon, Guillard, pre USADA Gleison, outstruck Barboza which even Pettis couldn't do.

Alot of people thought he won the Dariush fight also. Thats 5 straight. Lost to Nate then KOs Porier. 6-1 across 3 years with his 1 loss being a decision loss to Nate where he was never hurt.

Id say that was definitely his prime.

I like the Guillard comparisons. I think Guillard was a bit more talented than MJ. Both messed up with poor fight IQ. But man, a fight between them would have been sweet.

Guillard VS Diaz is textbook Melvin. Come out there, look like a world beater. Make a bone headed mistake and get tapped.
they did fight. melvin won round 1 then back peddled into a unanimous loss. it was an ok fight. melvin was cut shortly after, i think melvin made like 70k in the loss if memory serves right. and i remember reading from a poster "they are paying you to fight, FIGHT!".

i think melvin cracked him good at the end of round 1, but never got any momentum from it. just backed up into an L

Haha yep. Came out of nowhere. He had always shown good striking but never that kind of one-hitter-quitter power. Just a beautiful KO.

I agree. Aldo KO was the exception to the rule, his finishes are not typically "clean" knockouts.

Jon Jones KO of DC is the most underrated. He had DC running like a bitch before ko'ing him into oblivion. It's because of this that DC is not considered a GOAT

Pretty telling how this quickly became a bash/hate MJ thread, black fighters are still universally hated on here.

Poirier has seemed to struggle against fellow southpaws. Conor & MJ caught him clean obviously, but even a faded Jim Miller nearly scored a draw against him.
