People already get algorithmically served up news they want to believe, add in some doctored videos as proof and you can convince people of anything if you have enough money.


Look at the climate deniers who believe it's a profit making scam being fairly succesfully conducted against literally the richest vested interest group in the world.

I think the potential of AI is extremely overrated. There's always gonna be idiots who believe whatever they see but I think it'll mostly be novelty and coomer material. Plus there's lots of innovation to combat this stuff allready going on. Using block-chains to verify authenticity and what not.
