We've seen it a couple of times. When a dominant champ loses, he often falls into a losing streak and never comes back as good as he was before.

Fedor, Anderson, Liddell, Hughes, Wand to name a few.

The thing is, Aldo is still young. If he comes back as good as he's ever been and beats decisevely Frankie, then he could regain that belt and defend it for another couple of years (and I doubt Conor will ever come back to 145).

If he loses against Frankie, then I really think he'll never regain that belt.

One thing is for sure... This fight will be boring as shit.

Well that's what I was expecting for Frankie vs Mendes, and I was damn wrong.

Aldo needs someone who engages and takes risks to be in an exciting fight, like Mendes 2. I hope we'll get to see that.

Aldo is getting KOd.

He is done, his chin has been gone since the 2nd Mendes fight, rushes in like a mad man.

The dude it's out of his prime, totally betting on Frankie.

We'll know after that fight if he's done or not. At this moment we can't tell.

Nope, Frankie will circle and circle and then get jabbed and 1-2'd in the face every time he goes to close the distance.

We've already seen this fight, people are forgetting.

Neither of them should have to fight in the first place. Frankie already earned his shot, & Jose was undefeated for almost 10 years then got finished in 13 seconds.
I don't really mind who wins, I like them both, but I just hope Aldo looks good so he will at least be competitive when he finally faces Conor again.

Since the 2nd Mendes fight? You mean the one before his last fight which lasted 13 seconds? Not a lot of material to go on there, champ. I certainly wouldn't say his chin is gone when we have no way of confirming that and only a couple of seconds of footage to examine.

This fight will tell us everything we need to know.

he was dropped/rocked by Mendes.....His chin hasn't been the same.

Conor cracked whatever chin he had left from Mendes.....and his rush in like a mad man reminded me of out of prime fighters.

The guy is clearly out of his prime with a cracked chin.....

Jose Aldo is gonna get hit and he is gonna be like Anderson Silva...he will get dropped and finished easily.

No disrespect, but you have no clue what you're talking about. Since the 1st Weidman fight, when has Anderson been "dropped and finished easily"? Mendes was one of the first guys to hit Aldo clean the way he did that fight. That doesn't mean he broke Jose's chin it just means he performed well that night.

Give credit where credit is due. You're trying to write off a great fighter after one loss.

Not writing him off just stating the fact, that he is out of his prime.

Anderson got dropped by Weidman in the 2nd fight and it was because he was cocky, his chin just wasn't there, happened in the first round...bisping hurt Silva, fucking bisping.

That's what I mean by a chin getting weaker and Aldo is in that spot

You dont even believe your own bullshit.

Why is it so hard to accept, do you really believe that Aldo is still in his prime, that his chin is fine?
Do you really believe that Aldos chin has magically disappeard after the mendez fight?
Conor dropped him with a solid shot he leaped into.

^If posts/likes ratio means anything, this isn't a shitpost.

I believe it's gone, Happen to Silva and other fighters.

Conor finished whatever little chin he had left

True. He could go the way of those you mentioned or could do a GSP and bounce back more focused than ever.

I'm also interested to see if the weight cut, coupled with the IV ban has an effect on his cardio, if the fight goes into the 3rd and 4th rounds. He hardly had the best gas tank before.
