Seth pulling his punches for sure he's not even hitting him.
I agree the punches weren't really that hard, kinda looks more like Kimbo has really bad balance and grappling so he fell over and couldn't get up or defend himself. I'm sure he got hit hard in fairness.

the Slow-mo of Derrick Lewis KO of Travis Browne always looked Odd to me.. it doesn't look like he touches him

They wouldn't throw a fight like this at Lumpinee. The new guidelines are weird too. They don't allow fighters to take off the last round anymore since it is open scoring. Supposedly betting is no longer allowed either. There are also 3 round fights. I am not sure that part is promoter specific or not.

I stole this pic from twitter. That noise you heard is from outside of the ring most likely.

I mean I don't doubt that it touched him. It does look like his hair moves a bit from an impact. The audio is way off is all I'm saying. The hair is a huge dampener, that sound should be way less clapping. Especially since it just grazed him.
I don't want to start conspiracy theories here. I just sounds odd to me. That's not much more than an indicator though.
What drives it over the line for me is the reaction.
There are basically 3 types of knockouts.
- Starches. In the face where all the facial nerves are located, it's possible to create a nervous overload with a hard punch.
- Loss of equilibrium. Caused by strikes roughly to the ear area. Often 'slow' knockouts.
- major concussion. A hard impact can move the brain around enough in the fluid to make it bounce off the skull. The way that usually happens is when either the highest or lowest part of the head are hit because that allows for maximum leverage to rotate the skull on its joint. So the jaw or high above the ear.

None of those fit to this fight. It was certainly not the face that got hit, it looked too high to take the equilibrium and neither the visible impact nor the area of impact seem to fit a major concussion either.
This is an odd one.

You idiot, haven't you ever seen The Story Of Ricky? You don't HAVE to touch someone to hurt them if you're using your chi.

I ran slow mo on the video and there’s a chance the punch did land right on the forehead. It’s hard to tell because of the frame rate. At the point where the impact should have happened, it’s super blurry. It definitely looks like it missed.

But after closer review, I noticed how far his ear flapped between frames. And considering that the punch was on trajectory to hit the forehead, and the way the ear flaps between frames, it’s pretty plausible that the punch did actually hit the forehead. And there are plenty of fights that have ended off of glancing blows.

but, then we have to question why the ref stopped it so quickly. If it was a fixed fight, the ref had to be in on it. Or, the ref was close enough to the action to have seen and heard the impact in real time and read the situation correctly.

Also, even if the punch did land, maybe it wasn’t that hard. The loser just happened to feel the punch and decided that was the perfect time to flop for the stoppage.

So yeah, I’m not going to say something definitely did or didn’t happen. But, both sides are plausible.

even still, involving police seems a bit extreme. Lmao.

gun to my head, after reviewing the slow mo….I prefer to believe the punch landed.
