We are going away from coal and converting to natural gas. At least we are around the Great Lakes. There are something like a dozen or two dozen coal power plants (DTE Energy) that will either be shut down or converted by 2025 in and around Michigan. The industry i'm in is affected by and affects the coal industry and i'd say we are near the very end of our coal consumption on a large scale...
