He looks creepy?
I'm guessing a big part of the issue is that proving an accusation is "false" becomes quite difficult just as proving one is "true" is, the vast majority of claimed rapes do not even reach court let alone have a guilty verdict.I'm not making any kind of judgement beyond that this girl is an utter piece of shit. I was simply pointing out why the prosecution rate is so low for these kinds of alleged crimes.
Without proof it's just an accusation and people lie... not just women, not just men but EVERYONE so you need to be careful in just believing people based on an accusation, especially when the outcome is the accused having their life utterly destroyed.

I would add as well though I think peoples viewpoints about how often this kind of thing happens is biased rather by celeb culture which is I'd say much more prone to false accusations, fantasists are much more likely to latch onto a famous person and the whole celeb culture is full of unscrupulous people who focus heavily on PR and media attension plus of course the media itself is much more likely to pick up on accusations even if they've been rejected by the police(or haven't even made it to them).
She's 20 so has nothing... currently. She should be slammed and look at at least 2 years in prison and he should sue the shit out of her. Take her car, house, whatever.
There are also, ya know, women and men who ARE raped and their rapists aren't convicted.Anyone who says they know how common or not, false accusations are, is entirely full of shit. In the court case, they are trying to prove and prosecute the man for a crime he was accused of, not the woman for a false accusations, that would be a whole different trial... that just about never happens.
How many of the cases never make it to trial are because the cops can tell that the accuser is entirely full of shit? Who knows?
The fact remains that you can't just throw people in jail and destroy their lives based on an accusation, without evidence... and that's a good thing.
Of course there are. Have I ever even suggested that there aren't?There are also, ya know, women and men who ARE raped and their rapists aren't convicted.
I'm not sure how many women or men you know who have gone through rape and the sheer horror of it? The feeling of sheer disgust and slut shaming? I despise the accuser when it's unfounded but holy fuck, go through an ounce of sexual abuse and you would drop how much you're doing what you're doing about and for once think about the people who have been raped which you rarely do.
She deserves whatever prison sentence he would have got, that shit sticks with you for life.
We've been posting here together for years. You are ALWAYS in favour of the man in these scenarios, don't pretend otherwise.Of course there are. Have I ever even suggested that there aren't?
I am talking straight, legal procedures and the reasoning for the low conviction rate.
You're not suggesting that we should drop legal process for the accused, surely?
Absolutely awful, that poor man.The DA that pressed charges needs to face some jail time as well. They took away this man's freedom without any evidence.
I'm in favor of proper legal process as I've seen what happened to a friend that was falsely accused. We've been posting here together for years. You are ALWAYS in favour of the man in these scenarios, don't pretend otherwise.
In these threads I haven't once seen you leap to the defence of women/men who have actually been raped, but you dive right in with the other situation.I'm in favor of proper legal process as I've seen what happened to a friend that was falsely accused.
I'm in favor of whatever outcome the evidence dictates.
what percentage of rape claims turn out to be false? hint-- its VERY low. I think the punishment for it ought to be quite sever though. I'm not trying to minimize it.It's actually lots more common than you think and it's only the very wacky ones like this that might make news...... It's often used as a spiteful revenge tactic, an allegation is all that is needed with literally 0 come back on the woman.
Cuffs, it's because I'm always talking about the legal side of things. In these threads I haven't once seen you leap to the defence of women/men who have actually been raped, but you dive right in with the other situation.
You bring up one instance of wrongful accusation, do you know how many of us who have gone through the other end of it?

there are loads of studies about this problem from every angle there is. nobody doubts what I've said and its been posted and spoken about even in this thread. Are they? And how would you know this, or are you talking about conviction rates? Because that's even more difficult to prove than rape itself but going by a few divorce solicitors I've dealt with it's actually a less than rare tactic, used by some.......
The general conviction rate for rape is low and by you saying that false rape is low..... I'm assuming you're saying that vast majority of rape claims are true and they just didn't have enough evidence to prove it......?? Do you understand the concept of innocent till proven guilty???

do you really suspect that the majority of rape allegations are false?
