This Francis Hype Is Too Much

How does he beat his former training partner Cyril Gane?

The guy has been hit with some big shots, never flinched, and has felt Francis' power before. He also has the best cardio at HW. Those are two very bad things if you are Francis.

Jones/Gane would be an interesting fight and competitive fight. Gane/Ngannou is a fight in which Francis is toyed with, looks terrible, and is finished.

One could argue that N'Gannou just beat a bunch of decrepit corpses like old man 40 years old Stipe, rusty old Cain with a bum knee who hadn't competed for 3 years, chinny JDS who went 0-3 via KOs in his next 3 fights and got cut by the UFC, journey(old)man Overeem who is 40 and got cut by the UFC...

Francis' win over Stipe is very impressive, considering how outclassed he was the last time they fought.

I'm just going to hope that Ciryl "Bon Gamin" Gane wins his next fight in impressive fashion to get a title shot after Black Beast (hopefully) loses to Francis in their rematch...

And if Lewis wins, get ready for the "Francis was always overrated" generation; "we said so after the first Lewis fight and we say it again. 0-2 baby, Lewis HW GOAT confirmed"

Yes, seriously. Not only was he patient, but he also utilized straight punches for a change, something he should do more often in his future bouts.

EDIT: Not to mention his overall wrestling has improved as well.

I never said Stipe did anything, I am not sure where you got that. My post was about how it is pathetic Francis still has 1-2 round cardio after being embarrsed so badly during his first title fight, he has had 3 years to improve his cardio, and improving it by one round is pathetic.

Has he only been training striking? Maybe it is time he started running mountains, I think he has done enough pad work.

I am not buying into hype at all. Ngannou never would have sniffed that belt had he been active when the likes of JDS, Cain, Stipe and Cormier were in their prime.

The Ngannou hype started years ago and now it's like he never lost.

Other than Jones, BB, Volkov might be his biggest threat at this point. Just goes to show the shallowness of the HW division.

Shaddap everyone was sucking stipes dick about how he was the GOAT before tonight, now he's washed up lmao. Gane looks like a scrub and rozenstruik already got murdered by ngannou.

Derek Lewis is the only fighter in the division ngannou hasn't already hate crimed in a round lol

Also do you REALLY wanna see a stipe rematch? He can't take him down and clearly can't out strike him. I honestly feel bad for stipe after not liking him AT ALL during his reign, but he got shit on tonight and the sport is ready to sweep him under the rug. I hope he made a lot of money because I dont think he has shit left for a young monster like ngannou and who else in the division really makes sense?

I could see him fighting gane for the #1 contender after Lewis vs ngannou rematch but other than that it just feels like he should go out on a win and hang it up, he's had a rough few years. Showed an amazing chin tonight tho

Hey, I'm just saying that IF someone is going to shit on Stipe's wins, it also reflects badly on N'Gannou since he has many in common with Miocic
(except 3 years layoff Cain for Francis, and DC trilogy for Stipe).

Plus Francis beat JDS in 2019, while Stipe beat him in 2017.
Then Overeem in December 2017, against 2016.
And Arlovski in Jan 2017, against Jan 2016.


Stipe fought the fresher versions of these guys, so saying stuff like

is not a good look for Francis.


And most importantly, Stipe won against N'Gannou in Jan 2018, before Miocic went on to fight DC 3 times in a row, taking a lot of damages in the first 2 fights (Cormier won the first 2 rounds of their second fight, and arguably the 3rd, before losing in the 4th).
Then in 2021, Francis beat Miocic in the rematch.

That's not what I'm saying, my money was on Stipe this fight, but the nitpicking I did could become the consensus if N'Gannou loses the rematch to Black Beast :(

And sure I'l like to see Miocic vs Francis 3, but only after Stipe wins a couple fights without taking too much damage (I'd like to see Ngannou to first smash Derek Lewis of course), just to show that he's still got it.
 
Dude was calculated in there. Stuffed a take down, then reversed and put Stipe down. I'd say that's improvement and the hype is real. Hate seeing Stipe go out like that but I feel he needs to win a couple before a rubber match.

UFC needs to feed Jones to Francis but Jones doesn't want any part of that.

He didn't look marginally better lol, he looked way better than Stipe, Ngannou won every minute of the fight, Stipe barely threw a punch
