Been considering it for awhile. I live near the ocean and plan on moving on the water next year. Trying to do this coastal living thing right.

I thought about trying to get something I could fish flats with and go out deep, but now I'm just planning on buying a little skiff for shallow water later on.

I looked at some See Hunts, Grady Whites, Robalo's, Key West's, etc today at a boat show. Looking at something between 24 and 30 feet. Mostly for fishing but also the occasional overnight adventure with the kids.

I thought that said coat and was wondering why you were telling us this.

Speaking of coats, Amazon has US Polo Association blazers pretty cheap and they're great. Picked up a pretty spiffy one for 50 bucks and it fits almost exactly the same as one of my tailored suits.

Dude I know told me about some kind of boat club he's a member of where he pays a monthly membership fee to choose from a fleet of boats to take out on his own whenever he wants

Not sure if this is the actual company he uses but it sounds like the same kind of arrangement:

What is South Florida Boat Club
all about?

Our members have all the benefits of owning their own boat but none of the cost or hassle that goes with it, which ultimately gives them more time to enjoy the water with family and friends. You use the boats and we take care of everything that boat owners hate to do and pay for; storage, dockage, maintenance, insurance, taxes and actually cleaning the boat. We provide the care-free alternative to boat ownership at a fraction of the cost of ownership, while maintaining the highest quality of service.

How do I make reservations?

Reservations can be made online 24/7 using our internet reservations system. Reservations can also be made by calling our office on a dedicated reservation line Monday through Friday 9am – 1230 pm. You will get to know our team and they will handle all of your boating needs here in South Florida.

What type of boats do you have in the club?

We maintain a variety of boats including center console, bow rider, deck and cruiser models. Our goal is to match our fleet to our member’s interests. To view our fleet simply select the link for Fleet Photo’s and you can view all of our boats. The name of the boat is listed under each picture.

Is there a limit on the number of times per year you can boat?

Full (7 Day / 12 month) Memberships have unlimited use based on availability at our Ft. Lauderdale or Miami Locations. There are no daily charges, members just pay for fuel.

Are there any daily usage charges?

No, members have no usage charges. Your only cost is the fuel that you use.

2 best days of a boat owners life........the day they buy the boat and the day they sell the boat.

Lewie Downer over here...

After 35 years of watching my father and grandfather buy boats for our lakehouse I'm fully aware of the risks/maintenance.

Talk down to me again, boy, and you'll be cleaning the poopdeck.

I've always seen boats as a white trash kind of thing. Unless it's a mega yacht. That's cool.

Join Trawler Forum..we are looking as well...boats are cool..

i have quick off topic question over here, are you a dude named Sharon?

If it flies, floats, or f..ks, rent it don't buy it. Also avoid the Carolina Skiffs.
