Think DC is gonna win a Close Decision this time around

Stipe in 5 rounders:
Damn tired against Ngannou, who was dead on his feet.
Laid on Mark Hunt, no stamina needed.
Damn tired against JDS and got knocked down like twice

Also Stipe was very tired in other fights after rounds 1-2-3

So I'm not sold on his cardio and especially not against a guy like DC.

No Decision here

Stipe will KTFO him stiff. Cormier doesn't stand a chance without fake eyepoke punches.

WAR STIPE!!

Fair point

I'll admit I didnt really analyze Stipes cardio through 5

Just seems that taking the fight into deeper waters against a fatter hw DC would be his best bet

A decision maybe, but not close.

If DC starts losing the standup he will bring it to the ground

The bit of clinching I saw in the first fight did not lead me to believe that DC has a huge advantage over Stipe in the strength department, they both can wrestle and this is mma, not college wrestling. I see Stipe using more of a Jones sort of strategy of using range and stuffing DC's offence until he makes a mistake. Stipe also needs to look out for the finger missiles to the eyes again.

Stipe would be better if he was a lot of things

He's pretty basic honestly , lol

I need to start wrestling. Only thing keeping me from doing it is an old acl tear. Too much I don't know
His 1-2 kinda worked with Dos Santos. :D Props to Daniel who can dodge and swim in the clinch.

Imma with ya, pal. Embrace the grind!

Dc's shadow boxing looked better than Stipes tbh

Even with the height and reach I think they're pretty closely matched on the feet. So even if DC doesn't wrestle much / is cautious about how much energy he expends wrestling.. It's a tough fight for stipe

But yeah, it's through 5 that Stipe could pull ahead. Or not, DC has gone 5 multiple times and has always shown good cardio from what I remember, how a fatter, older hw DC handles the deeper waters remains to be seen tho
Stipe was getting tired from the few wrestling/clinch exchanges they had first fight. I don't think DC can secure a takedown on Stipe easily at this stage, but he doesn't need to. He just needs keep grabbing him and making him defend. Stipe can try to fight at range all he wants, DC is going to force him to fight. Unlike Roy Nelson and Mark Hunt, DC is going stay in stay in Stipes range and force him to fight at pace he can't sustain. Cornier has always dictated the pace of the fight, even in loses. I don't see how Stipe wins a decision here.

With Ngannou, we simply don't have enough evidence to determine if you can be anything BUT tired going 5 rounds against him. Nobody else has managed it. I suspect that even dead tired, Francis still has enough default strength to make manhandling him a punishing chore.

Even if laying on Hunt required no stamina as you say, setting the record for most strikes delivered in a UFC event did.

JDS was his first full 5-rounder. Sometimes you have to go through that experience to learn you need to work on your cardio more.

For your "other fights" I can't answer until I know which fights you are referencing. For example, in the fight with Beltran he suffered an adrenalin dump, not uncommon with a debuting fighter. But even in instances where he tired he almost always got a second wind.
