Things in MMA that have/will age poorly

Tap Out clothing was complete utter garbage it was very popular during the early stages of the ultimate fighter era of UFC aged horribly. I would also say the Reebok deal was a terrible deal for UFC.

What an amazingly hilarious yet F'd up and accurate statement!
Made me Laugh.
Glad that I work from home.

Re USADA, probably every aspect that you mentioned.

Re Point System:
Sorry if you've read this from my account already; but all 10-9s aren't (and shouldn't be scored) equally.

Also, 2 swing round 10-9s rounds on one side that are razor thin shouldn't negate a solid 10-8 3rd round leading to a draw in a 3 round fight.

10-7 then if its a proper beating

Everyone loves pro wrestling. You wouldnt have shit if Hogan hadnt slammed Andre at WMIII. Pride would have never existed if that didnt happen. Muhammad Ali may be the greatest, but that pales in comparison to Antonio Inoki parachuting into arenas. And you got a cute little Apex, but it aint shit to the Tokyo Egg dome.

So stop trying to be cool, you know, people spend their whole lives, trying to be cool, like Mr Monday night Rob Van Dam? Homicidal suicidal genocidal Sabu? And the most admired man in sports entertainment, the guy who call it right down the middle,Bill alfonso?? Do you realize that?? Of course you do. Not only do you want it. Not only do you need it. But I know, that you crave it.

FUNK U motherfuckers!
I loved wrestling during the ragnarok era. 1980s-1999. Past it, it was difficult. 2000-2003 was a fall from grace. Nitro was awful af, I wasn’t sad when wcw went under. They deserved it.

Dennis Hallman and his Speedo.
Justine Kish shitting in the cage.

10-7 then if its a proper beating

Something like that.
This is my “hill,” so skip to end for TLDR.

I generally don’t know what the solution would be; but if we’re calling it a fight, there has to be some emphasis on damage.

A winning fighter should only be worse for wear than their opponent (outside of fouls/DQs) if they win by stoppage.

Not sure how the scoring should be applied; but 10-7; or even 10-6s might be the solution.

I’m also an advocate for penalizing fighters who refuse to engage; and taking points quicker on fouls; especially if the foul was easily avoided.
Fighters need to control their weapons.
Some of these men/women are willing to take one to land one; eye gouges are different, though.
I’ve literally seen fighters continue after being gouged; but look like they could see strikes and TDs coming on one side.

TLDR: More 10-8s and even maybe 10-6s in some circumstances. Penalties for refusing to engage, quicker penalties on fouls (control your weapons.)
Emphasis on damage, and making a “fair fight.“
Sorry for the long TLDR

No testing period was the best because we didn’t give a f***. Back then we weren’t a bunch of single mom raised geeks in their basement.

That's simply not true. If you were following MMA in the early to mid 2000s, you'd know steroids were a much bigger deal then that they are now.

As I often point out, nowadays your average MMA fan believes that about 90% of pros are roiding
Back then, it was maybe 10%?
Read steroid threads from the mid-2000s PRIDE days (when UFC was Bellator), it will refresh your memory (I assume you've been a long time fan if you were around for no-USADA)

Pissing hot then was a death sentence when it came to popularity and credibility. No one would put a steroid cheat in any kind of top P4P list
Nowadays we have no choice since both Jon Jones and Anderson Silva pissed hot multiple times (I had forgotten that AS also pissed hot for the Gastelum fight, hence why Bisping took the fight on 2 weeks notice, so Dana would take care of him after this final fight...)
and they are half the current consensus GOAT top 4
(yeah, we can't ever agree on a fifth somehow... Barao & Aldo were almost it, Usman too, Mighty Mouse as well, even Izzy and Conor for a short while, now it's Volk...)

Anyway, the easy answer is Dana White.
When more and more scandals start popping out, future fans will wonder how we let this dumbass be president for so long.

Aged poorly about 2 minutes after the fact, and only gets worse as the days go by

Had to watch this again for the old times.

1) How the fuck did "Mask" worm his way into the life he was living? Cocaine is a hell of a drug.

2) Surely Vanilla Ice was a Charles "Mask" Lewis hanger-on?

3) Even Chuck was embarrassed

4) That was a 14,000 crowd and they still made more of an effort than they do nowadays

5) Must have sucked being Tito that night, albeit he played himself into the situation

6) Tito definitely won the war

7) War ZUFFA era UFC

8) ICE ICE BABAYYYY

9) I can't even name the other 2 tapout guys

10)

What other things have or will in future age very poorly in MMA?

Right now I’d say:

- No drug testing era
- The rocks shoes
- Prime
- Fighter Pay
- Dana White
The Rock's shoes stands out to me. Hell, he already got clowned to shit presenting the BMF belt lol

Bro come on... There was a fraternity back then.

USADA came in and fucked everything up - everyone used to cover up for eachother, or went abroad to cycle, it was pretty much a given.

I don't hold it against anyone, but it definitely happened because stigma was way worse back then, but it was the 90s... Everyone was on the juice back then... They still are now... Its OK too.

Sport, TV, wrestling, rockstars, Arnold, or whoever... Who gives a fuck. It was great entertainment and they should bring it back becaude it was awesome.
