Seems like Dvalishvili is not a fan of Russians. I remember months ago Russian journalist mentioned that at media day in UAE in 2021 or in 2022 Merab told to Russian journalists "Everyone has a good and bad in them. In you, that you are Russians is bad." and laughed. Don't know if he refused to interact with them after that.

He didnt say itd be his last fight beforehand I dont think. He suddenly retired after the loss.

lol. obviously that isnt how it works because most people work for a living and dont want to spend time in jail. maybe im just old but id rather be called a bitch a thousand times than go back to jail for whopping some dude. besides yan and mereb were in a controlled environment, yan just trying to be billy badass.

Pretty sure you’re right about him not saying anything before the fight, but I felt if he lost he was going to hang it up since that was his last hurrah. IIRC Merab also broke Aldo retiring on the MMA hour interview the next week which I thought was kind of shitty of him even if that wasn’t his intention.

Either way the last time we are seeing Aldo in a cage he was held up against the fence for 15 minutes which sucks ass

Tried to start the fight with a punch, and ended up getting flash KO'd/knocked down himself, lol!

A throat strike can significantly hurt someone.

Hard to tell if this was just selling the fight, but if it was real, two things come to mind...

1. Yan is breaking mentally.

2. You have to be careful about hurting an opponent and getting a fight called off.

Merab seems to be in his head.
