Thiago Alves as a Lightweight...

These seems physically impossible.

He must be deflating like a balloon. lol

How can this be possible, are we talking the same Alves who missed weight twice at 170, and looked 2 sizes two big after the Hughes fight yikes.

He wasnt huge his last few fights, he dropped the ridiculous mass he once had and even then he could afford to loss more without looking like George Roop

I don't know if he will make it, but he def. looks a lot more smaller off camp these days.

Wow ! I wonder what supplements he's taking to lose mass.

Bwoy this guy is going to die. i remember it was hard for him to cut WW.

I remember reading a few years ago, that the only reason he didn't move up to 185 was that he was too short. He said he was losing weight to make his cut to 170 smoother. Maybe that just worked better than planned

Yeah, he looks smaller indeed, but it still comes as a surprise to me. I don't think he'll make weight too easily.

Besides, I'm not saying it won't work and I don't mean to disrespect Alves at all, but some fighters seem to think that dropping a weight class is a solution to a problem that has nothing to do with their division - but with themselves instead.

Anybody that watched his fights with Seth,Jordan and Condit shouldn't be surprised. He looked tiny in all those fights. I don't see him making much noise though. Talented guy but he's had a ton of injuries over the past few years.

I just want to see him fight 2-3 a year in this new age regardless of what weight its at

He's been a blown up LW as it is. About time he lost the beach muscles and went to the proper weight class.

Thiago Alves doesn't have a naturally big frame. I would say fighting at lightweight is the more natural/healthy weightclass for him.

Hmmm, looks like we'll have to wait a little longer to see LW Thiago.
