They're remaking Papillon

Now, I generally don't mind when they remake films, it doesn't hurt me any and who knows, sometimes they pull it off, but Papillon? You can't replace Steve McQueen with Charlie Hunnam. That's as close to blasphemy as you can get.

You know, i only watched the original papillon a few yrs ago. And it was fucking epic.

With that said, i ain't mad at this remake at all (seen the trailer about an hour ago). Rami malek should make it interesting.

The original film had classic performances from McQueen and Hoffman, but it was an absolute butcher job as far as accuracy to the book goes. For that reason I think it could totally do with a remake, but would need to either be 6 hours long or span multiple films to include all the epicness that was in the novel (and they might as well do Banco while they're at it).
