These Russians are destroying MMA

Maybe you guys should learn how to defend a fucking takedown.

In reality most champions are stand and bang dudes... you are complaining about who? Merab and Khamzat?
Most champions?

I dunno about that; there’s been a long history of grappling based champs.

Are you new to the sport?

It’s obvious the Chechen fighters have figured out the ground control on a level no one else can contend with. You honestly think Khabibs, or Khamzats opponents didn’t train to stop from being taken down? Many of them prior to meeting these chechens had a decent TDD %.

They’re just that fucking good. No one has solved the puzzle, until someone does. They’ll keep winning. It’s clearly the evolution of the sport.

Hey, you should think about how happy you will be when/if someone manages to solve the puzzle of his grappling.

Also, most of his fights are very entertaining and Khamzat shouldn't be the only one to be blamed for how this fight played out.

If Dricus would have tried harder to explode/disengage from some of the positions (or defend a takedown), he might have been finished, but he might also have succeeded in creating an opening to keep it standing for longer than 15 seconds.

Kind of interesting that after drug testing came to play, all these international fighters from small corners of the world started to do better in the UFC. Most of the US stars vanished, where drug testing infrastructure is most involved. Surely a coincidence. A small change in drug testing policy ends up with a whole new roster of champions.

Geographically speaking, certain regions have been difficult to access and it makes it harder to test fighters. Such regions are usually isolated and mountainous or in the middle of nowhere. These fighters living in such places often do not get tested the same way as fighters living in cities. City fighters you can randomly pop in on whenever to test but isolated fighters would probably only be targeted for testing when they go abroad or to a big city. So strategy wise an isolated fighter could easily predict when he is likely to be tested.

UFC should fund their testing agency more so they can go extra mile to really catch guys.

We need Trump to get Putin to put these guys on the front lines.

Hell, they already are I guess, war is headed to a boring decision

They probably pay a guy at the only airport nearby to let them know when they land lol. Hide for a week on a camping trip. Return and pass a test.

Most current champions are not pure grapplers. Merab and Chimaev are. Is not like they are ruling all divisions.

Volkanovski, Topuria, JDM, Ankalaev and Aspinall are mostly strikers. Pantoja and Islam are great grapplers but they mix things up a lot.

This feels like a very important phase in the evolution of MMA.

Nothing stays the same and no one ever stays on top forever. However, the Dagestani/Caucasians are going to force the evolution of MMA.

It's crazy to complain about it; it's basically survival of the fittest. Get stronger or die. If I'm a kid aspiring to be a fighter and I'm watching this, I'm thinking I gotta put in at least 50% more effort. I'm not thinking, "this sport sucks now back to gooning"
