These Russians are destroying MMA

At some point its not even MMA anymore and just becomes a glorified wrestling meet

You know, you and the other dorks could just go watch kickboxing. Being crucified 3 times in the same fight is not a "glorified wrestling meet".

But be sure to wipe those salty tears first.

Not only did your boy get beat, it wasn't even competitive. Salty tears will sting.

A boxing ring and yellow cards please.

Alfie Davis in PFL won his matchup and the Paul the real Irishman Hughes had a good showing too.

It ebbs and flows. Someone will figure out the counter and then it will repeat.

Then beat them. It's only cyclical anyway. The game evolves and eventually there will be an answer or one of them will get caught at some point. Nothing in MMA is forever.

Dricus defended himself well enough to avoid taking significant damage and getting finished while still getting dominated.

casuals complaining are just being entitled again

You're right, we should just shut up and take what our corporate overlords give us.

It's gay to complain about it. Why doesn't America produce great fighters who can beat them? That's what you should be whining about.
Been over this many times, but

  • Not nearly as much money in the U.S. for MMA as there in pro football, basketball, baseball, hockey or boxing (and even tennis, golf, etc.) so MMA doesn't attract the top-tier athletes like some other countries
  • Best college wrestlers get a late start to MMA in their early to mid-20s at the youngest. Then they have to cross-train and get the experience before getting too old. And some like Bo Nickal don't have the physical/mental gifts to pick up other areas of MMA.
  • The E. European and Brazilan fighters start early (teens) learning all aspects of MMA
  • There are a few exceptions. Brady and Fluffly seem to be the newer breed of better American MMA stars. Unfortunately for Flully, he's in a division with the most dominant wrestler so he's got a huge task to win the belt. Brady may have a good chance at WW.

Bring back the ring, and full contact rules.

Knees and kicks from everywhere, just no head stomps.

Yes this would benefit the wrestler, but at least less fights will go to the final bell.

We're nowhere near as comfortable and enthusiastic about getting basically naked and rubbing against other men for hours a day, it's a cultural disadvantage.

These Russian mountain dudes are just naturals at it
You joke but wrestling is engrained in Russian athletics going back to the Soviet era

Whereas we hate wrestling so much replaced it with WWE which is still pretty gay, but in a flamboyant, theatrical sort of way..

UFC has always been about finding out who the best fighters/styles are since back to the first events.

You can't cut out Russians if they're the best, you have to defeat them.

Other countries will be forced to adapt studying Russian anti grappling like they did learning BJJ when the Brazilians dominated.

Survival of the fittest.
Absolutely not. First few UFC events were using hand picked fighters that gracie could beat. There is no chance in hell Royce would beet more accomplished wrestlers of the time if they knew basic escapes/both hands in or out rules.

I agree with all that. Still doesn't make it less gay to whine about the Russians dominating. Like I said previously, we should be celebrating that there's a part of the world that cares enough about MMA to keep evolving the sport and taking it to higher levels of mastery. Without them the sport would truly be going backwards.

Yeah, the sport wouldn't be where it is today without the U.S., Brazil, Japan and Russia/parts of E. Europe being so involved in different eras (including some eras before MMA existed).
