If you had seen some of the women I've seen him with....he has his share of munters, true but he's been with some gorgeous women.

When my wife and I first started dating, a colleague asked her what is was like being with someone shorter than her.

I knew one guy who was really short (he was my height) and he did everything he could to try to be taller. Took mystery pills, stretches, etc. None of it worked of course and he said the only way he could get laid with a hot girl is by paying for it. Really sad case because he was also not an attractive looking guy, really skinny, and extremely insecure. He really needed work on his personality the most.

I'm 5'6 or so but I have other things going on for me at least.

Will it make them happy? Procedures like this comes with a cost. You'll be taller but with less mobility and might be basically handicapped. Your quality of life will be much worse.
The only real reason men would do this is to attract women, since women generally like taller men. But women also like women to make more money, to be physically capable, strong, protect her, etc. If you go from 5'5 to being 5'10 and handicapped, and how many women will go for a handicapped guy no matter how tall he is? For women it doesn't matter as much to put on make up or wear pretty clothes that restrict their movement because they're not expected to be as physically active.

Yeah, I have a friend and a coworker who are both shorter than me (and I'm very short, myself) and they're doing well for themselves. I also had a friend who died unfortunately (RIP) who was not only super duper short, the dude was in a wheel chair and his body was deformed. The dude smashed chicks, too. I feel it's a lot of dudes lacking other things and are trying to blame something they can't change (their height) on their lack of success getting poon. I think if dudes put more work in themselves and learned how to talk to girls properly, these stupid surgeries wouldn't even be a thing. Lots of dudes out there don't even work on their hygiene, which is like the easiest thing you can change about yourself to make yourself more attractive.

A quick search reveals that the rate of complications is high. Apparently the recipients can get nerve damage, permanent pain and even issues using their legs, the worst outcome being paralysis. I don't imagine the worst case scenario happens very often, but it's on the table. Not surprising considering it involves breaking the bones and keeping them broken for months on end so that new bone can grow in the gap. The human body can adapt to a lot of nonsense but even that is pretty extreme.

Let's be real. No one cares if you're a manlet. These guys have severe body dysmorphia. They are the same type of idiots that will do synthol or add calf implants.

I dunno man. I think there are plenty of people who care about height. I've seen plenty of average looking dudes with zero personality garner lots of female attention and ivr seen plenty of good looking, funny, nice guy dudes who are shorter get the cold shoulder.

It's not all of the story, but its definitely a huge part.

Synthol and calf implants are a bjt different I'd argue, because for the most part, you could generate similar outcomes with lifestyle and behavior changes, except for those dudes who go way too far and end up looking like balloon animals.

I think the height changing surgery is more like breast implants, which is to say it's a surgery to modify a secondary sex characteristic that isn't changeable by non surgical means.

I can't imagine going fot it myself, even if I was a tiny fella. The loss of mobility, the risk of future serious injury, the pain... fuck all that. I'd probably just become obsessive about jiu jitsu or something.

I can’t imagine that this allows to confidently do any form of risky activity like combat sport sparring or mountaineering, etc. Must fuck up your weight distribution and balance, on top of being brittle.
