My guess is Dana and the Bros sell high, sign a 10 yr non compete clause(on the assumption by them that the new owners won't have a clue and will fail within 10 yrs) then in 10 yrs start a new MMA promotion and build it to the best ever again.

Just a crazy thought but I could see it, especially if Dana stays on in some capacity, so that he can sabotage the UFC from within to further the long con. Discuss and flame as needed.

I imagine they are selling because the Fertitta brothers either want to buy the NHL expansion team there or purchase the Oakland Raiders and move them to Vegas

They could be pulling a time honored Vegas tradition by selling high, allowing new ownership to drive the business into the ground and then buying back low. Casinos have done this in the past, Terrible Herbst Carwashes did it, a grocery store chain did it... it's Vegas baby.

It's number two according to a lot of media outlets. If it were an NHL franchise the Fertittas could have bought that a while ago.

Hockey in Vegas seems wrong. So does football. Air conditioned indoor stadium?

No offense, but it's a ridiculous theory. They've spent a good part of their lives building this. They wouldn't sell it, and hope it fails, so they could start again. And think about it, people don't spend $4 billion dollars if they don't have a good plan how to do something properly. This isn't your uncles lawn mowing business.

I would be interested in them owning a team in the only other sport I can tolerate, hockey, bit I think the NHL has enough US teams that are filled with sunshine and heat that the people that live there don't even give a shit about the teams. Put a team in Hamilton and another in Quebec before the put in more southern teams I think.

As for an NFL team that would not surprise me as they seem to love Football.

No offense taken. I'm not saying they would bet on the new owners failing, but even if it doesn't work out they would obviously still have all that money. Ièm sure by selling it they are prepared to part with it, however if the new owners did indeed fail, they would certainly be poised to jump right back into the action.

I'm pretty sure I read it in Deadspin.com that the Fertitta brothers are looking to get in on the Raiders move to Vegas (if it happens).

Mark Davis (Raiders owner) is apparently the most cash poor of all NFL owners. Oakland is not willing to pony up the cash to build him a new stadium there, the city just doesn't want to do it or doesn't have the money to help finance it.

Sheldon Adelson, a multi-billioinare businessman who recently purchased the Las Vegas Sun (local Vegas newspaper) also wants a hand in bringing an NFL team to Vegas. He's apparently willing to help fund a new stadium not too far off the strip. Mark Davis is willing to pony up some of his own cash...but he doesn't have enough, they need more and it's believed that the Fertitta brothers are trying to raise the cash to get in on the Raiders Vegas deal, help finance the stadium, get a piece of the team. The NFL is a guaranteed license to print money, the UFC...not so much.

Can LA have the Raiders and Vegas get the Rams?

I just said NHL because the league came out the other day and said the Las Vegas team is a go for 2017-2018...Quebec will get the Hurricanes here in another season or two
