Replacement fight at a odd weight is just a ton of excuses for whomever loses.

-Diaz loses: and he is a warrior willing to fight anyone anywhere. If he had a full camp he woulda won!

-Conor loses: Diaz was several weight classes above him, give Conor time to bulk up or make Diaz fight at LW and give us a rematch.

No matter the outcome no one is moving up or down in a division, FW and LW are on hold because of a WW catchweight bout.
 
I don't give a fuck. I'm way too excited about it to care about the other implications.

Why don't you be happy there is a fight at all? If this were jones or most other fighters, the whole thing would be scrapped. I'm just happy there is a show at all. Don't worry, be happy.
 
The worst thing about this fight is your thread. Divisions have been held up by injuries, TUF, and short notice pull outs. But a card getting saved by a gun fight on ten days notice is a huge problem.

oh ok cool. I was afraid you were one of those debbie downers that threw a fit on here. I saw a lot of that not long ago.
 
The worst thing is Conor yet again gets fed an opponent that has a 10 day training camp and had to fight at 170 because he could not come close to 155 which means he is at least 15 pounds out of fighting shape. He accepted the role of being a jobber for this fight so it is what it is

In the end once you sign a win is a win and a loss a loss, but at WW who cares? It ends up being entirely a exhibition.
Kind of like BJ Penn VS Lyoto. Everyone always praises BJ for being a warrior and moving up to fight and acts like the fight doesn't mean anything because it isn't at a weight he fought often.

Then enjoy it for what it is: A last minute fight that might turn out to be interesting, with neither fighter being seriously affected after a loss.

Conor will still be scheduled to fight RDA no matter of the outcome.

Diaz won't go anywhere, and will have Dana's and Fertita's gratitude for stepping in.
 
weight divisions, belts and records don't really matter to me so long as the fight delivers after all the freakin hype.

as beautiful as that sounds, it will no last. There will be more obnoxious prospects coming and more tweens that will flock to their ballsacks like moths to a porch light.
 
If Diaz loses, he has legitimate excuses.

If McGregor loses, he has no excuses.

I'm pretty sure LW is on hold because RDA bumped his toe. Not because of Conor fighting Diaz at WW (which is an actual weight class, not a catchweight)

The worst thing about this fight is that they don't have proper time to build a beef between the two. The trash talking they could do if they were making media rounds would be great.
