1. Make weigh ins 1 hour before the fights

2. Enter a clause in all contracts that if a fighter misses their contracted weight they forfeit 2/3rds of their purse to their opponent.

By implementing these two simple rules fighters will no longer cut weight (not enough time to recover), and will have every incentive to make weight before the fight or lose their payday.

A fighter will only be a few lbs overweight at most on the day of the fight and could easily cut what they need to make weight. No more 20-30lb weight cuts.

Everybody just goes and fights at Bellator and RIZIN.

UFC pay is part of the lure/bait combo.

How about if they miss weight they have to be Dana's human centipede.

And Dana has to eat cuddle fish and asparagus for a Month.

Remember if your opponent doesn't make weight you get 2/3rds of their pay. Yes you're risking more, but you also have the potential to get a nice bonus with discipline. Gross pay to the roster is the same.

Weigh ins and hour before would be incredibly dangerous.

A certification system similar to that of NCAA wrestling would be a better attempt at addressing the issue.

If we Make weigh ins 1 hour before the fights ppl will die.

I dont want to see shitty gassed out fights that we would get if they weighed in an hour before.

No one is going to cut significant weight because it will hurt their performance. How will cuting 5lbs at most "cause people to die" when fighters currently are going to hospitals to cut 30lbs?

Everybody just starts trying to fight dudes who don't make weight, in which case you'll get glorified jobbers who don't give a shit about the full pay being the opponents on most cards.

As opposed to what exactly? When we see a guy who missed weight by 7lbs the day before? Ive seen plenty of "gassed out" shitty fights because of fighters trying to cut 30 lbs. This will actually prevent that because there will be no incentive for weight cutting.

I've been saying it for years.

Get on the scale then get in the cage.

This would also drastically affect who fights in what division. Probably bump everyone up 1 division and some people 2.

Just have them weigh in while Buffer announces their names<Fedor23>

Who is going to willingly give up 2/3rds of their pay? No professional who paid for an entire training camp.

BAN WEIGHT CUT VIA DEHYDRATION

Move everyone except Edgar up one weight class. Problem solved.

Dude stop being naive they're going to keep on doing it no matter what. Up until the late 1990s we had kids dying in amateur wrestling from doing it and even today they have an issue with it. These are professional athletes they go do whatever it takes to get a advantage. It's just part of the culture they just have to accept it
How about instead of banning substances that help with weight cutting how about that the athletes use them so they can do it in a safe way.

One hour is not even close enough time to rehydrate,
any kind of weight cutting even a couple of pounds requires a person to deprive themselves of fluids,
Fighting within 1-2 or even several hours of doing that is a risk that no commission would allow.

Just make every fight open weight, fook weight classes.

And legalize the PEDs.

Who cares these days anyway.

Just bleed

Forget the manlet divisions. Just have 155, 165, 175, 185, 195 and Open weight.
