You aren't willing to make your bet about the actual body of the argument, as has been pointed out to you by other posters not involved in the conversation, and I'm not going to get into a bet about semantics, somthing else that others have pointed out to you. So just stop responding and walk away, if that's what you really want to happen.

And I don't need to "salvage" anything. I've won. The fact that you want to have a semantic bet is proof of that. The fact that you're still here trying to get the last word is proof of that. I said "suspending elections," but I would also bet on inauguration, but I would change the wording to Obama doing something to delay/suspend it to avoid something like a storm or some minor mixup with the swearing in that leads to a one-day delay or something. Or make it a week, as anything like that would be cleared up by then.

I'm OK with that (or with the winner of the election taking office within a week of the scheduled inauguration date).

Yea, the join date / number of posts thing was just so I wouldn't have to manage a bunch of new accounts. The thread has been slower than I expected though.

@mcveteran81 , Jack is cool with either proposal posted above (the first one I did is the same except add a week to the statement and when it's decided) so if you could give an okay on either, we can make it official.

Guilty. That's pretty much what it's for, right? Making an even bet for no money is fun if it's a friend, but that's not the point here. People say something really crazy, and you say, "that's not going to happen." I think it'll be a real learning experience for a lot of people. Another kid on crutches--@glennrod--was backing the guy up.
