The Walking Dead: Season 5 Edition (Please put comics spoilers in spoiler tags thx)

He also protected his turf against all the walkers in town by himself.

He didn't only protect his turf from walkers, he protected it from marauders, and actively sought out to clear the dead from the town by himself. His only Kryptonite was his dead wife, I'm sure the death of his son at her hands will always be a constant problem for him, but other than that the guy has proven to be one of the more resourceful and positive pro-active people presented. Actively thinning out the walker population makes sense, you never know when one will turn into many and they are competition/deterrent to wild game for food. Not to mention the hygienic aspect, like the flu epidemic proved.

Prep Time Carol is the new Motivated BJ Penn? Would that then make Prep Time Morgan the new Chuck with that Look in his Eye?

Prep time Morgan is more like Pride era Fedor, always has a plan and comes through even when the chips are down.

Yeah it's time for a change in the shows setting but anyone recall how crazy the city was before?

I guess it was in season 1 where they show hundreds of walkers overwhelming that tank.

With a high population density i don't expect dc to be much different.

after awhile you'd expect the population to thin out, there is no more food for them. Like any organism they will migrate to find new food sources. At least that would explain the "random herd" we see every once in awhile.

I hope they do go to DC and run into zombie politicians, seeing them stomp them would be good comic relief at least for one episode.

Morgan is going to show up right before Bob gets in Sasha's panties and swoop her up driving Bob into a drunken depression

damn straight

and then after he bangs her silly, hes going to yell "clear"

We don't know if they need food to "survive". Zombies aren't like normal living organisms.

During the Woodbury episode Milton made a comment that they starve just like us only a lot slower (yes, I was really bored this past weekend watching reruns). Don't know if that is canon or just one of Milton's zany ideas.. Actually regardless, they think they need food, they have a drive for it that would drive instinct.

wish they went into more detail on some of Miltons tests

Hm, okay, I might have missed that.

In other zombie stories the drive to devour does not necessarily indicate a need for food though.
In WWZ (book) for example it's stated explicitly that the zombies do not get any nutrition from what they eat. It passes through them undigested. But they still crave it.

Re: starving, zombie anatomy and physiology seem to fall apart on any sort of analysis, so I would just assume that they starve so slowly that they effectively do not. They can survive with just a head i.e. they don't even require organs (other than the brain) or a circulatory system in order to have enough nutrients to seemingly survive into perpetuity.

If people read the comic they know how ironic this episode was in regards to Glenn and how his story played out in the comic.

Thanks for spoiling the comic, Dick-face.

What is it with people, sometimes? They just have to throw out these little tidbits that they know something and it ends up ruining someone elses enjoyment. It's strange.

But I got around to seeing the premiere. Im somewhat perplexed. I thought this season was going to be them as prisoners, but now at the end of episode 1 they're basically in the same place they were for a large part of the previous season, wandering around on the road. I mean, I'll hold judgement and see what they have in store, but I thought them being prisoners and being completely out of control of events would have been an interesting change for the narrative. Now it seems like more of the same comin up.

You make a good point. So what if they kill all the walkers now, once people start dying more walkers will be created. Unless the "cure" also kills the infection in all of them? I don't trust that mullet dude, I think he is going for the fake out.

After watching a few of last seasons episodes. I think the hillbilly doctor is full of shit and he was able to trick a grunt into protecting him. One of my reasons is that when he began flirting with one of the chicks he was like " what type of gamer are you?" Then started to list genres then his lame ass fight fire with fire plan I was convinced but hey I might be wrong and it's just poor scripting.

I dont know why i keep giving this show new chances to get back on track..

yeah, that started off with such a creepy "what's he up to?" then it just kind trailed off to him hoping for some hippie new age connecting with the walkers.

Hm, okay, I might have missed that.

again, even if they don't actually NEED to eat, if they feel a drive to or an instinct that tells them they need to eat then they will still act as though they need it.

Well they didn't kill off the Termites, I have a feeling there will be some cat and mouse shit going on between the two groups. The season theme seems to be "hunt or be hunted", so I'm pretty sure we haven't seen the last of them. Unless they run afoul of prep time Morgan, then I have no idea where the season is going because that will only take about 20 minutes of screen time. Unless somehow Morgan gets tied in with the Termites and doesn't know that it's Rick's group he is after, but I don't think that plot line will carry again like it did for Woodbury and Andrea, especially since Morgan isn't the dumb ass Andrea was.

Anyone notice the 1st dude at the trough was one half of the couple that Rick & Carol found last season in that one idyllic looking housing tract/neighbourhood.

Just heard it on Talking Dead, I'd have never of made the link otherwise.

Just curious as to how he spoiled the comic with what he said, do you now know where glens story goes? And if you haven't started reading the comic by now I doubt you will. Plus the show and comic are so far apart with how things go down and what happeneds they are basically two different stories.
