The UFC made a mistake cutting Ryan Bader

Watch out for these charlatans with their "professional haircuts". Case in point:

That's a fucking travesty

Who was more terrified before a fight Bader against Rumble or Spinks against Tyson?

He didn't get cut, it's just that the UFC had no interest in paying him big bucks.

Probably wasn't a bad business decision considering how many snoozers he put on in Bellator so far.

In the UFC he either gets finished by elite fighters, wins in boring fashion, or very rarely, actually wins with an exciting performance.

Meh. People seem to forget how mediocre Bader looks when he fights better competition. He left the UFC on a two fight win streak against Old Man Rogerio and a massive come from behind win against Latifi. You could argue pretty strongly that he lost both fights against Davis.

He's just a medium fish in a really small pond.

They did not cut him.
They just did not wish to pay him more, and Bellator did.

Not that they care anyway. Bader does not change the rating status. They won't pay more to those who does not bring asses on seats.
UFC doesn’t seem to care about having the best fighters anymore just the most exciting. Use to go hand in hand but no so much anymore.

Did they cut him? My understanding is that he took what he perceived to be a better offer from Bellator.
Which is happening a lot now, with the likes of Rory, Moose, Phil, etc. UFC under WME would rather give the money to CM Punk types, or try to use UFC brand power to get us to care about local level guys. There are a whole host of guys in Bellator that could not only compete with the best UFC has, potentially beat the champs (Rory, Moose, Bader), but they also have guys that could be massive draws, like Lashley, Swagger and MVP.

Bellator is gaining HARD on UFC since Coker took over at helm.

He walked away for a better deal. Ditto Rory. Sometimes lowballing fighters backfires.
I just don't think WME gives af about having the best fighters under one roof. They care about generating money thru entertainment above sport, give Brock title shots when he has not won in 8 years and just failed a piss test. Even Fertitta made Brock fight a contender match after he lost a title that he had already successfully defended.

Good fighter but had a definitive ceiling because of his chin imo.

This is entertainment masquerading as a sport. The competition is real, but ask yourself this: Does UFC want the best fighters, or the more lucrative fighters?

Other organizations like MLB and NBA essentially monopolize their sports, where as there's multiple MMA orgs that can outbid for a fighter. You may ask why UFC isn't a monopoly, why they don't have the money to pay for all the best fighters. I think the answer is sociological. I don't think MMA is as universally palitable of a sport as football, soccer, etc. And I don't think it ever will be

Bader's one of, if not the best fighter in Bellator, whereas he's just another guy in the UFC. He was worth way more to Bellator.

To be fair, if you were fighting in the UFC's LHW div. and your name wasn't Jon Jones, Daniel Cormier or Anthony Johnson..... You were just another guy (And yes that includes Gus).

Meh, he was really hot on TUF but he aged pretty badly and his hairline had already receded quite a bit by the time he left UFC. Not a big deal now we have Paulo Costa and Rockhold seems to be on Finasteride after signing with Ralph Lauren.
The original playboy was Ken shamrock and then he just kept blocking with his face.

Look at the UFC LHW rankings and tell me with a straight face that Bader doesn't wreck everyone except DC.

He was just another ranked LHW a few years ago. Since then he has gotten better and the talent level in the division has fallen off a cliff. He's the #2 or 3 LHW in the world now imo.
