The Truth About Being a UFC Referee!

It really is a hard job, when fast action is happening its hard to tell if it was an eye poke or a groin shot not to mention the fine line of stopping a fight and letting a guy continue.
 
I got so emotional by watching this vid.

I was laughing a lot, is what I mean.

No he is not. His decision to stop a title fight 50 seconds before it would have went to the judges scorecard was ridiculous, unnecessary, and is one of if not the worst decisions by a referee in a title fight in the history of the UFC.

Colby put himself in the position he is in, but if any other fighter had that done to them they would have already had their rematch. Goddard stopped a title fight fifty seconds before it was going to the judges scorecard because Colby got knocked down twice, he didn't go unconcious, and was covering up when Mark Goddard seemingly out of no where spontaneously decided the fight was over.

This was a display of arrogance, playing kingmaker, rather than a pragmatic one and he defends it to this day.

PSA for those in isolation this Christmas: That fight that you see live pictures of, as opposed to animation, was Søren Bak vs. Paddy Pimblett and it was highly entertaining. Worth checking out, if you missed it.

wtf? of all fights to complain about you pick Usman destroying Colby Covington? It would have been 50 seconds of Colby taking brain damage just to lose a decision

I'm a huge Colby fan and he was getting his ass kicked. Would have lost the decision anyway.
 
Didn't Colby have a broken jaw there too? Goddard saved him from taking more unnecessary damage.
